Jake Delhomme getting cut = greatest move in franchise history.
However, putting Matt Moore as the starter puts us back at square one. I like Moore, but I don't think he's starter material. He's the next Delhomme (good for a couple of years then tanks when everyone figures him out).
The Carolina Panthers are among the teams interested in acquiring Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell(notes), and in what could be good news for them, he’s very open to making that his second NFL stop.
According to ESPN, Campbell likes Charlotte as a possible destination. Every QB-needy team, including the Bills, Raiders, Rams, Jaguars have been mentioned as suitors, but really, none are nearly as attractive as the Panthers.
The Panthers are moving on with Matt Moore(notes) as their starter, and could use a passer with Campbell’s arm, mobility, experience and still relative youth to step into the No. 2 role.
Campbell is also decent enough, given the help he would get from their offensive line, running game and wide receiver Steve Smith, to be a efficient game manager if something were to happen to Moore.
In addition, Campbell hails from Mississippi and played for Auburn, and a short move south would mean getting closer to home.
