Hell if RJ could get almost 15mil a year Iggy could get one aswell, but I believe he is more around the 8-10mil range only

Once the 76r's traded AI I was under the impression that Iggy was the guy the team was going to be built around. He was going to be the face of the franchise. If that is the case should he not want more money?

Personally I never saw his basketball ability equal to a franchise player.

Okafor has been a consistent double double player but 14/11 on .491 is nothing to phone home about. If double doubles are the determining factor of huge contracts, then we should see David Lee get a similar offer in the next few years right?

I like David Lee a lot, but he's not a 5 like Bogut, Mek, etc. He's also more replaceable, that is it's easier to find players like him. But, who knows. The money thing is getting so far out of hand that he just might get something close.

I'm not saying David Lee = Emeka, but what I am saying is that you can't really say that he deserves his contract based on getting double doubles. I wouldn't exactly call him an irreplacable player. I don't know if i'd even rank him within the top 10 centers of this league.

He's behind (in no particular order)
Dwight
Amare
Yao
Big Z
Bogut
Al Jefferson
Marcus Camby
Andrew Bynum (potentially)
Chris Kaman
Tyson Chandler

at least.

It's the consistency that makes the difference. Of the guys on your list, only Dwight is a career double double. That's worth paying for IMO.

Consistency is a good thing, but not when you fail to improve year after year. His rookie season was terrific (15/11) but he hasn't really gotten better since then. And a player doesn't usually peak in their rookie year.

Puleeze.

Only guys on the list that are definately better than Meka are the first three. Put Meka on that list and he is the best defender by a landslide (cept for maybe Camby). Basketball is played on both ends.

Sounds reasonable, although I think he will settle for something less than that.
lmao you're saying that andre miller is a more reliable scorer than iggy?

He's worth about that much... He's a superstar in the league, getting better and better.

That's kinda the bottom line isn't it. You pay Iggy and the 76ers are one scarry team.

2007/08 averages

Emeka Okafor: 13.8ppg/10.7rpg/1.7bpg

Big Z: 14.1ppg/9.3rpg/1.6bpg,

Andrew Bogut: 14.0ppg/9.8rpg/1.7bpg

Al Jefferson: 21.0ppg/11.10rpg/1.5bpg

Marcus Camby 9.1ppg/13.1rpg/3.6 bpg, DPOY

Andrew Bynum: 13.1ppg/10.2rpg/2.1bpg way more potential

Chris Kaman: 15.7ppg/12.7rpb/2.8bpg

Tyson Chandler: 11.8ppg/11.7rpg/1.1bpg

Pau Gasol (who I forgot on my initial list): 18.8ppg/7.8rpg/1.6bpg.

Okafor is a better rebounder than some on the list but his game isn't well rounded. I'd take every one of these players in their prime before Okafor in his minus maybe Chandler.

I hope we just get the deal done with soon. Both of them.

The problem is that they just signed Brand to a huge contract, Dalembert and Miller have 20 mill combined still on the books, and a few other fairly big contracts, so for sure the Sixers don't have as much money to offer as they did before. They didn't make locking up Iggy a priority so either they will have to offer him less than what he wants, or pay up and face luxury tax penalties.
