The Bulls also have discovered some interest in guard Larry Hughes, as long as they're willing to take a big contract in return. Since the Bulls need to thin out their backcourt, some possibilities could include Portland's Joe Przybilla, New York's Jared Jeffries, Dallas' Erick Dampier or Denver's Kenyon Martin.
Yeah, I miss the Iverson-Hughes days. I hope Hughes starts playing like he did before he got the big contract. I was always a fan and was really excited when it seemed he was starting to show his full potential...
Denver would be thin upfront if they swapped out Kenyon Martin. They still might jump at the chance to get rid of someone like Martin or Nene for Hughes since he's only got 2 seasons left whereas Martin has 3 and Nene has 4.
I wouldn't be blown away by any of the players listed, but i'd probably be like Manute for Ever! and chose Kenyon Martin over the others. I was actually surprised to see that there were supposedly teams interested in Hughes.
Jeffries and James? Is that what the Bulls are offering?
Don't know about that deal.
I don't see the need for the Bulls to be taking back roleplayers, unless they have short deals. Martin or Damp are good enough to start on the Bulls, which is better then adding Jeffries and James to the bench for a couple of years. James isn't gonna play and Jefferies would probably be behind Deng and Noc. If they swapped Jeffries for Malik Rose, then it'd clear some capspace a bit quicker and they could probably just send both out to pasture.
