Street's Disciple I didn't care for much. Hip Hop is Dead I couldn't really get into, either except for a few tracks. Still prefer both of those over Kingdom Come. American Gangster...it's one of those albums that you have to listen to 3-4 times to really start appreciating it. However, I think Nas' new untiled joint is the best of any of those mentioned.

Plies frustrates me. From his interviews and the fact that he went to College you can tell that the dude is clearly intelligent and has a lot to say. Yet he raps like a retard. Dude could probably say so much more on record yet he chooses to dumb himself down.

Like someone said above that Andre 3k hasn't dropped enough material right now to be considered, but he's been on a few remixes and features that would still put him as one of my top rappers. Joe isn't even my favorite anyways, but I do think he's the most talented doing it right now.

I see where you're coming from but I think you're confused with "#1Rap/Hip-Hop Artist Right Now". I like Joe Budden as much like you do and he does have talent but he isn't exactly "#1 Rap/Hip-Hop Artist".

I love Andre 3000 but I wouldn't call him number 1 cause I need to see him more prove his solo rap solo album. I know he had "The Love Below" and Andre 3000 is better than Big Boi but Big Boi's Speakerboxxx ****ty on The Love Below. I think Big Boi gave Andree 3000 best ability when he "Outkast" as rap group. What are Andree's abilites?..prolly when he's a guest appearance, etc.

Joe Budden only had one average album, solid mixtapes but he isn't the number 1 artist when everbody can recognize him. Kanye West is the answer. Please, read my post about Kanye West again....then you'll see what Im getting at....

I had a Nas phase. I listened to Illmatic and obviously realized it was amazing, then I moved on to It Was Written, I Am, a little bit of Nastradamus and Stillmatic. I really don't think that those albums we're enough to push him over the limit as the best. I still feel he had one great album and a couple ok albums. I think almost all of Jay-Z's albums we're better then the albums released after Illmatic.

So obviously you like Illmatic more then Jay-Z's albums (Which is very understandable) and you are saying that his new album is better then all of Jay-Z's? Even if that we're the case, do you think having two albums better then Jay's is enough to push you over him?

Keep it real...Jigga made a career rapping about ignorance.

No hate towards Jay but I question how can one be considered
the greatest when his catolog is filled with ignorance.
The same thing goes for Biggie. Biggie spit a lot of poison
with two albums. The closest Biggie ever came to something positive
is "Juicy" and "Skys The limit"....Other then that Biggie spit
a lot of ignorance as well.. But the focus we're on now is Jay.
Unlike the likes of KRS, Rakim, Nas, Tupac and Scarface,
Jay rarely touched on real issues affecting society. Issues such
as: AIDS and STD's, Drug addiction, Blacks and prison, Child abuse,
Gun violence. All jay has talked about through out his career is himself.
And if he wasn't talking about himself he was rapping about something immature.
and materialistic. Lets take a look at Jays biggest hits:

- "ain't no ***** like the one I got..No one can F$%# u better"

- "***** what? ***** Who?

- "Money cash hoes money cash hoes..What!"

-"Can I get a **** YOU to these *****es from all of my ****** who don't love hoes, they get no dough"

- "Jigga(What's my mother****in name?) Jigga (And who I'm rollin with huh?) My ******.... ****** better get it right, *****es better get it right"

- "Is That your *****?"

- "Big pimpin"

- "Gimme that funk, that sweet, that nasty, that gushi stuff"

- "As we, smoke that La, La, La Memph Bleek still smokin' that
La, La, La Beanie Sigel Desert Eagle the .45 It's the ROC *****
sing our Lulla-Bye"

all of his albums are filled with braggadoccio and materialism,
Here are the only songs from each album where he isn't
bragging about how he's better then u and me and speaks on real issues:

"Regerets" from Reasonable Doubt

"Streets Is watching" from Vol 1

Nothing in Vol 2

Nothin on vol 3

nothing on Roc La Familia ("Where Have You Been" is self centered)

"Mama Loves Me" on Blueprint

"A Ballad for the Fallen Soldier" on BP2
(a double album and only one song)

Nothing on Black Album

"Monority Report" on Kingdom Come

Go check for yaself....jay spit a lot of poison
throuhout his career. Just wanted to point that out.

Well, that's you're opinion though, I wouldn't rank them that way obviously and you wouldn't rank Jay's albums the way I would, and it's pretty pointless for us to argue about it for the billionth time.

No one from down south should even be mentioned including Lil Wayne.

Tough choice for me. It's either Nas or Jay-Z. I have all of both of their albums (actually paid for) except for Nas' latest one.

I would put them tied at #1, but since I have to choose I will go with Nas since more people are going for him :)

And I was actually being fairly objective with that one. Most diehard Nas fans consider It Was Written, Stillmatic, and Lost Tapes to be classics

Let's not kid ourselves, Wayne is still the hottest right now as far as record sales and popularity. I don't consider those things as criteria for how good a rapper is but plenty of people do
