Sure you can add up mulitple salaries to get to 10 million. But the answer is No.

1) Raps are at the lux tax limit and have stated they won't go over, and,

2) Raps can't afford to add any more replacement fillers, and

3) Raps already only have 'minimum' 13 players, so,

4) No 2for1, 3for1 trades possible.


Sadly.

As I said when BC aquired JO. That contract is a huge anchor. Ties up the roster until 2010.

i was thinking about it, but i feel that he thinks he's worth more than he is, and i don't like how he is a volume shooter...

also i don't watch much of him, but i don't see him being a quality starting SG on both ends of the floor

We don't have the assets to obtain him. I've wanted Gordon on the raps since he was in Uconnbut I've pretty much filed that dream away...

I agree.. but just between JO and Ben Gordon, i rather take JO, if i were GM for raptors

Like already stated, the Raptors are at the minimum of 13 players.

Could you imagine how bad a backcourt of Calderon and Gordon would be defensively. That would be embarassing.

No worse then Jose and Parker. At least Gordon is very athletic and fast.

but he is small, and i don't think he would put the same effort parker would on defense, i'm not saying parker is other worldly at defense, just puts more effort in the little things, where gordon is more scoring oriented

I can see why you would say that if JO plays a full healthy season. But if he only plays 60 games this year and next, and misses the playoffs. Man, two long years of Raptor misery... Can't say BC doesn't have the stones to take a risk and swing for it though.

Not sure myself, but considering the risk, I'd maybe rather have Ben Gordon and $10 million for X frontcourt player.

I don't think either of us know the effort level that Ben Gordon puts forth on the basketball court enough to make a comment like this. Pure speculation. Just because a guy is good at scoring doesn't mean he's not good at other things.

well he could have shown something no? bruce bowen shows he can play defense (though many may argue that is really just with his feet :) ), and we know his offense isnt spectacular, but he can be effective , some guys excel at defense, some excel at offense, sometimes u get a blend like a ron artest, but i think its safe to say gordon is a scorer, and he is pretty much a combo guard or shooting guard in a point's body or w/e else they are called, and they tend to be scorers i feel.

plus he is a sixth man a la bobby jackson back in the day i feel, but better in the scoring sense.

That's exactly what he is, very much in the mold of a Jamal Crawford - ie when you shoot the ball a lot you'll make a decent amount of shots and come across as a pretty good scorer. But we see it time after time how one-dimensional guys like that get old pretty quick in the eyes of the fans.

For what he'd cost for the next few years, I can do without Gordon.

I was just thinking the same thing, we just got rid of one undersized gaurd who was a liability on D.

Well, we aren't getting Ben Gordon. But I find it funny that we label a guy like that so quickly without knowing much about him. Because he's a very good scorer....he's automatically like Jamal Crawford!? I don't get it. Last year everyone was bad on the Bulls. The year before, Ben shot over 45%. He wants to start, like all NBA players, but came off the bench when asked. He's over 41% from the 3 for his career. Very strong and fast. Was at the top of his team in pts per shot...which is a measure of efficiency.

If we could get Gordon for like Bargs and Graham, I would do it in a nano second. Might work too as the Bulls need a low post scorer.....which I guess in theory may be Bargnani.

i think Defense is the #1 issue we need to address... before scoring..

that's why i said JO over Gordon if i were raptors GM.

on another team... certainly a $10M Gordon is less risky than a $20M JO
