FIBA has become more fun to watch.

The NBA with all the stoppages and soft fouls is becoming real boring.

Yes it makes me smile when someone cites the FIBA rulebook as an excuse for a US loss. The only game thats "foreign" is the one played in the NBA!!

This is true. The NBA game has noticeably changed in the past 6 or so years. People are beginnning to see that FIBA is actually more physical and displays a more continuous game. The NBA game has been transformed by Stern from a premier league where players were talented and fundamentally sound into a league of pampered stars and little teamwork.

Who was it that said Greece has average shooters? LOL

USA is not even the best in Baseball. Remember this year Baseball World Championship?....They should make a Football World Championship so we can finally win something.

Have FIBA rules made in real big changes since 1992. If not, then there is no excuse, they got beat.

No, no significant rule changes have been made except for the 30 second shot clock being changed to a 24 second one (which occured in 2000). Also, the format of the game was changed from 2 20min. halves to 4 10 minute quarters. Also, the 10-seconds for advancing up half court was changed to 8-seconds.

The same thought crossed my mind, USA could probably win the American Football World Championships for the next 100 years.

But only without steroid testing.

That's exactly the problem: the NBA needs superstars in order to succeed and make money, and in order to make some of those guys superstars, they give them all the calls in the world. The NBA is getting to be less and less about real basketball, unfortunately.
