i almost wanted the bulls to get him. he's a good young player. now i'm glad chicago didn't get him. this is a serious injury early on in his career. especially for a 7 footer.

none of them would really help other than just being a big guy on the roster. Randolph hasn't been serviceable at all since his bad injury, and Amundson and Hill are only end of the bench guys

You don't have to worry about him, he signed with GSW.

He will def. miss a significant portion with an ACL tear. Not to mention when his knee heals, there will be alot of rehab and he will have to condiditon himself for actual games. Looks like he wont have much impact this season at all

Nothing major, wish Sixers would have traded him tho. Sixers will be fine with a bet signing.

sorry to hear that shavlik hasnt bounced back from that injury. I always wonder what happened to him. yeah theo ratliff would be a good signing (frankly better than smith anyways). I was hoping we would reup him in dtown (based on what I saw from him last year), but the kwaminator eliminates that possibility.

I still don't get everyone's lovefest with Shavlik.

He sucked at Duke, went undrafted, sucked with the Sixers, got hurt, then was glued to the bench and didn't play. He was an energy guy. That's it.

he played pretty well for us 2 years ago as a backup...i will admit that. He could rebound and make hustle plays

People loved Shav vuz he was a hustle player. Dude crash boards and get offensive rebounds. Setting screens, real active in his limited minutes. So people think hey if you per 48 him he is pretty damn good. But he picked up fouls like Kurt Thomas. He was somewhat of an underdog, a Rudy so to speak even tho he was tall. Just a guy no one expected to be worth a damn, didnt do much at Duke. So anything he gives is magnified because hey he shouldnt be doing anything. And ever since that nasty injury it made fans who liked his style of play a lil intrigued on what could have been/could be.

That is the love affair with him.
