The Nuggets have traded forward Joffrey Lauvergne to the Thunder for two protected 2017 second round draft picks.

Lauvergne is considered a backup in the league, and will likely play limited minutes while coming off the OKC bench.

The Nuggets will receive OKCís 2017 second-round pick and Memphisí 2017 second-round pick, which Oklahoma City had acquired in a previous trade.

In two seasons with the Nuggets, Lauvergne appeared in 83 games (16 starts) and averaged 6.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per game. During the 2015-16 season, Lauvergne scored in double-figures on 26 occasions and recorded five double-doubles.

A native of Mulhouse, France, Lauvergne was originally selected No. 55 overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2013 NBA Draft before being acquired by Denver. Earlier this month, Lauvergne helped lead the French National Team to a 3-3 record in the Rio Olympics after registering averages of 9.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 18.0 minutes per game. Previously, Lauvergne won a Bronze medal with France in the 2014 FIBA World Cup of Basketball where he appeared in nine games and averaged 9.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
