So, what happens if the shot goes in?
If that's the only shot taken, and it goes in am I 100% from the field or still 0/0 and it counts as 3 for the team?
Make it make sense.

While I agree largely with the premise, it’s for different reasons.
The AI is coming for jobs is wildly overstated at the moment. Much like when Microsoft and the internet came around, there was a drastic shift but we didn’t all of sudden see a cut of people working in the corporate world in half. Secretaries and paper-pushers were just forced...

I'm not sure the NBPA drove this rule change but this kind of rule change would be the only kind of thing they could do about that. They're not going to be able to keep GMs from considering a player's shooting statistics when they come up with a contract offer. I don't think it will make much of a difference but there are a few guys that take a...

AI is coming for a lot of jobs. Entry level jobs, admin jobs, tech jobs, design jobs, media jobs, white collar jobs, etc.
What America is going to need is blue collar workers. Lots of them. Unfortunately I don't think everyone is capable of learning a skilled trade. We're going to need more auto factories, clothes factories... all of it.

I'm guessing it's a combination of both.
I am of two minds. On one hand it provides a solution to a problem, but it's really only a band-aid and doesn't attack the problem at the root cause.
This is why I always laugh at the stat and efficiency dorks. Look at where the obsession with numbers has taken us. You have players outright refusing...

This seems like something the union should be able to successfully contest isn't a reasonable negotiating tool for owners to use against players, not that I claim to understand the nuances of contract negotiations.

I agree but is this something the players themselves are pushing, or the league?

Yeah, Lebron's play in the 2011 finals wasn't because of some insurmountable Mavs defense. Hell, he averaged 28/8/4 55% TS against the Celtics and 26/8/7 57% against the Bulls who were the top ranked defensive teams that year. By all metrics, the Heat had already seen and overcome the best defense they were gonna see before they got to the finals....

Reminds me of a former Wizard Kelly Oubre. Will need to mature, defend, and maintain a higher motor to get consistent contracts. This could etither go the Oubre path or the Portis path (another former Wizard wild child) from here for Whitmore.
As for the logjam, I'm sure Middleton will be a paid mentor for the first half of the year then be...

It's not a major issue but the guys doing the last second heaves want this (Payton Pritchard has spoken up for it) and it's not just about vanity. The ding these shots put on their shooting stats does a small amount of damage to their negotiating position with teams in free agency. I don't want the rule change myself but players wanting this is...

No they just wanted to send him. He is a physically gifted athlete who can shoot, like Melo, but he never passed the ball and his effort on defense wasn't enough. He does seem very immature at times on the court.

The fact that players are more concerned with their stats and efficiency than playing to win is already a sign that maybe we shouldn't be comparing them to past players.

If they want to tinker with this, I'd rather they just make any shot from beyond half-court count as 4 but otherwise leave it as is, instead of rules intended to protect player efficiencies that past players could never benefit from( which makes it even harder to compare because todays players already have the benefit of advanced metrics to tailor...

As tested during the 2024–25 NBA G League season and in effect for all 2025 NBA summer leagues, an unsuccessful end-of-period 'heave' will be recorded as a team—not individual—missed field goal attempt when all of the following criteria are met:
🏀 The missed field goal attempt took place within...

One of my favorite overlooked moments was early during the republican primaries. Trump allegedly accused Jeb of being compromised on the immigration issue because his wife was from Mexico. So the moderators tried to give Jeb an easy layup to attack Trump and it totally missed.
You could tell that Jeb was gearing up for this huge round of...

Eh, I mean I was always of the view that Grant Hill was a hair better in the mid/late 90s and just had a bit more size and versatility to go with comparable athleticism. But I wouldn't go as far as saying Penny's peak was overrated, for no other reason that he didn't really have one. Unless you're saying the best we saw from him is what you're...

Didnt notice clayton jr.? He can use his left hand which i was impressed by. Seemingly a lost art. Defended made shots inside and oit. Ran the floor. Made plays for others. Ace had 7oot reach so good length nothing spexial. Very athletic. Good motor. Still raw. Collier made some great passes. Still needs to work on his shot. Keyonte george needs...

VJ 1 Ace 0, these two forever will be linked unfortunately at least with the Sixers fanbase. But also folks who were big/low on Ace in general. Ace definately works on tough shots as he took them quite a bit. He had a great block showing his length. He may not be 6’10 but he’s pretty long. VJ on the other hand mirrored Jimmy Butler in the ways he...
