Advanced stats absolutely do and can highlight defensive impact. There are tons of advanced stats out there centered around +/- and its regressions that measure impact a player has when on the floor in terms of the scoreboard which allows us to separate the Dwayne wades from the Zach lavines even if their stat line was similar.
And fact is...

It isn't Nascar, but I would guess the UFC crowd is like 90% males in between age 20-40. Not many females that are big into MMA. I would also say it has probably gained more respect as a sport over the years.
It's PPV sales have fallen off a cliff though. Not sure who is to blame there, PPV in general seems dead to me. Anyone here dishing out...

Reverting a LeBron topic into NFL.
Doncic averaged 4 more points than Bron and had as many assists and rebounds and a far better plus minus.
Even Davis was averaging more points, higher percentage, more blocks and rebounds than LeBron. Far better defense.
And this guy is carrying his team? Not to mention he is a horrible teammate.

You see the purpose of the revisionist history in the thread title.....I cant beleive anyone who grew up watching 80s-90s ball could ever come to such a conclusion. Its that terrible.

Advanced stats dont ever factor defense perfectly. Klay made an all defensive team, Jeff did not. Klay received all defensive team votes in 6 seasons to Jeff's 1. Klay made 2 all nba teams to none for Jeff. Klay has received mvp votes in a season, Jeff? Nope. Jeff won't ever see the hall of fame while Klay is likely to hes on the short list of...

I agree with her rarely, and I think she says dumb shit all the time, but at least she has the balls the go straight for the Elephant in the room. America needs to know. If Trump is pedo she is prepared to man-up and...

Hakeem's career best TS was 57.7%. Barkley's career average was 61.2% in spite of bricking 3s.

10%, 50%, 90% ?
0% ?

Why do people rely only on those 2 years, as if Hakeem was not a statistical juggernaut before then? Here's Hakeem's stat-line prior to 1994:
Hakeem PS '85-'93: 26/13/3/2/4 on 54%
I'm genuinely curious, how many players from that era were doing this not named Michael Jordan?

We can't track data prior to 1997, but the last good years for him were 1997-99. From 10-16ft and 16-29ft, Hakeem shot 44% and 46%. Lookup Ewing and Robinson's numbers those same years and he shot better.
Robinson: 36%/43%
Ewing: 41%/43%
So what's Hakeem doing in his peak years? In the years mentioned, his FG% was 50.5%. From '93-'96 (peak...

Crazy stuff.
Dimitrov peaked but he played out of skin and paid the price for it. He consistently hit 140 MPH serves which he never does, until his pec gave out on a serve.
He wrote checks his body couldnt pay, and his body is already quite fragile. 5 straight retirements in slams now.
Of course Sinner hurt his elbow also in the...

He's also wrong about the fanbase of UFC being "white trash hillbillies". Guy lives in his made up bubble. Go to any bar or any casino on a fight night and you'll see dudes from all walks of life who are heavy into UFC. It isn't Nascar. Look at all the big time celebs that show up to all the PPV's.
That would be like saying the core fanbase of...

In USA you have to tip. They could pay the waiters and waitresses 25/hr but then you'd pay double for your burger. The money has to be made up either way. Don't be a cheapskate.

If we're talking prime for prime, I'd probably disagree, but you could make a valid argument for Hornacek. But if we're talking the Utah version, absolutely indefensibly stupid to claim that version of Hornacek is better than peak Klay.

Timing is also a huge factor, 80's had a ton of PG's but not too many legendary PF's. Malone set a new standard for the position and he was chasing Kareem. 00-10 we got more clarity in how you could have a bunch of Malone's but Stocktons were the rare ones.

No its not just scoring. Jeff was better in almost every advanced stat. Way better playmaker and dynamic offensive player while also shooting more efficiently than Klay. Klay is a better defender which lessens the gap but perhaps not by enough to overtake him. Hornacek was an above average defender as well and Klays defense is vastly overrated. He...
