How can people say it would have been fine earlier in the series? If he did it game 1 or 2 he likely would have been suspended 1 or 2 games (if not more) which hurts the lakers anyways. It's a bad move in either case and he should know better.

It's one thing to foul someone hard, it's another to throw a full on elbow at someone's ribs. I can see fouling someone hard, grab them and throw them down, or even push them. Bynum is 7 feet tall and close to 300 pounds. Barea isn't even 6 feet tall and probably weighs max 170 pounds. Bynum's elbow put all of Karl Malone's to shame. It's a bush league play and you can end a guy's career like that. You're vulnerable enough in mid air, but to throw a full elbow on top of that is classless.

I grew up watching 80s and 90s ball. They played physical and the game should be physical. But there's a difference between physical play and hard fouls, and throwing elbows and going after players in vulnerable positions.
