View Full Version : all the MVP talk is about Curry and Durant is taking a hot SH*T on Curry's season LOL

i said before that Curry gets a pass for everything cause hes a media darling and durant is getting the kobe treatment.
Curry is averaging 28/6/6 on 44% and 38% threes, 62%ts
Durant is averaging 30/8/5 on 57% and 42% threes, 68%ts
Golden State is 11-2, 1st seed
Brooklyn is 10-4, 2nd seed
oh wow.. 1 more win and 2 less losses... just toss out the fact that durant is literally going god mode
and curry has 2 guys almost averaging 20ppg with Wiggins and Poole at around 18ppg while only Harden is putting up that output for the nets
again this exposes the MVP as simply a popularity contest. a worthless award that the media changes its criteria every year for. i suppose as long as curry keeps the top record it will be about wins. then if the warriors finish 2nd or 3rd seed they will work in some angle about curry making poole better than he really is
:lol

PER leaders ( the medias FORMER favorite stat )
1. Jokic 36.42 ( and should win the MVP again if the nuggets get to 45-50 wins )
2. Durant 30.79
3. Giannis 30.22
Curry 28.09 :(

I’ll give OP credit, if you had asked me who had the better statline so far this season I would’ve been very confident it was Curry. It’s actually kinda crazy Durant’s having a season like that and nobody’s even talking about it :lol
But you know the obv reason why, Curry’s getting more publicity because he’s taken a team expected to be a 2nd tier contender (without Klay obv) and has led them to the best record in the league, while Durant’s led the team considered to be the title favorites to around where you’d expect them to be.

I don't care about one game when ranking players, it's completely irrelevant. Unless you think Tony Delk was an elite scorer cuz he scored 50 once :yaohappy:
He shot 55.9 TS% in 2006, Jordan beat that mark in 10 of the 13 full seasons he played, stop making shit up :yaohappy: In fact, Jordan was never that inefficient in a full season until 1998 lmao

its not just one game. he has the best scoring season ever too when adjusted for pace
and i'm sure if you adjusted for pace and took out kobes 6th man teenage years and his post achilles stuff hes up there with wilt and MJ in career averages as well
i know kobes point per shot during that time is on par with jordans career average
both have 1.30
and thats 15 seasons for both guys
so adjusted for pace kobe would have the all time ppg record as well if he went to college and never ripped his achilles

That's a whole lot of ifs, and obviously Jordan could have had the best scoring season pace adjusted if he shot more considering he was more efficient than Kobe lol. And Jordan's advanced and impact stats destroy Kobe. Eeyikes.

He shot 55.9 TS% in 2006, Jordan beat that mark in 10 of the 13 full seasons he played
kobe 2005-06 - 55.9TS%
vs
Jordan 85-86 - 53.3TS%

Jordan 92-93 - 56.4TS%

Kobe’s inferior advanced and impact stats are still there too. As is him being unable to beat even young Cleveland Bron with a stacked Lakers team lmao
was that during the lakers rebuilding era when cleveland went to the finals and lebron had an allstar level sidekick
or was that during the lakers title years when cleveland had the best record in the nba and all kinds of help around your kang but he just ended up shitting the bed
glad lebron got the much more important regular season matchup victory and let kobe walk away with that meaningless trophy back to back years during the only time both guys were prime

He won’t be top 17 at this rate. Giannis, Jokic, Luka, yikes. If Zion, Kawhi and Embiid stay healthy, he could go down to 20th. Of course the chances of Kawhi being healthy long enough to surpass Kobe are basically zero but still.

yeah kwame is just as good as big Z and has just as many allstar selections.
larry hughes averaging 20ppg before getting to cleveland is just as good as smush parkers 3ppg before getting to LA
Donyell Marshalls all time record tieing 12 threes only came a year before joining lebron. thats not much better than anything luke walton ever did from deep though. its obvious the lakers had just as many sharp shooters
i mean only 7 guys on cleveland shot over 35% threes... thats not much better than the lakers 3 guys
its sooo obvious cleveland was trash. lebron got them to the finals by himself

Curry is averaging 28/6/6 on 44% and 38% threes, 62%ts
Durant is averaging 30/8/5 on 57% and 42% threes, 68%ts
Golden State is 11-2, 1st seed
Brooklyn is 10-4, 2nd seed
oh wow.. 1 more win and 2 less losses... just toss out the fact that durant is literally going god mode
and curry has 2 guys almost averaging 20ppg with Wiggins and Poole at around 18ppg while only Harden is putting up that output for the nets
again this exposes the MVP as simply a popularity contest. a worthless award that the media changes its criteria every year for. i suppose as long as curry keeps the top record it will be about wins. then if the warriors finish 2nd or 3rd seed they will work in some angle about curry making poole better than he really is

don't care about the 2nd round cause hughes averaged 18ppg the first 4 games of that series. and vs detroit gibson stepped up with 14ppg

Meltdown
yeah its been building up for a while with this guy. i try to be honest on here and say stuff like lebron is top 10 all time, any version of him from 2012 to 2018 is better than curry. i even had him 5th on my pre season player rankings. and i even bought his rookie card recently because i truly believe he will pass kareem and many people will put him on some kind of god classification for doing it. you see all this stuff is just fun and games for me. but with other people on here theres a scary level of hatred for me and kobe and it goes far beyond basketball. this is a gimmick of mine. lately i've been cheering for the lakers and actually hope he does well. so much so that i bought a 2nd even better looking lebron rookie card just the other day and now have 10 grand invested in this dude. i got a 6 grand luka card and a 3 grand giannis too
i'm a realist. i know lebron is an all time great. i just don't think hes better than kobe and that sends you guys off to the point where some of you say kobe isn't even good enough to lose... forget win titles... LOSE a deep playoff run... this dude legit thinks kobe is worse than dog shit. i can't respect anyone that says that man. this is some disrespectful ignorance

Ok but the funny thing is I lurked here for a while before signing up so I was familiar with who you are. Then one day I see you in a random YouTube comment section absolutely shitting on Kobe just after he died in a tragic helicopter accident. Way worse than anything anybody has said on here. i didn't shit on kobe. just said he was better off dead cause the media had basically destroyed his legacy and tried burying it forever and i was mostly in shock trying to find the good out of the bad. it was legit like a family member dying when i heard the news from my mom. she called and woke me up and told me. it also tripped me out that i sold his autograph a day before on ebay cause i had given up collecting his stuff since his reputation was trashed so bad that his auto was worth like 100$ raw and his rookies were like 500 bucks. it had been an ongoing joke for sports shows to trash him daily and for his annual 12be ranking that was an ongoing joke among sports columnists. they had done a great job turning fans off. and i still believe the greatest thing that kobe ever did was dying in that helicopter. it made SANE people appreciate his legacy. but it didn't help his case for his super rare critiques on places like ISH and realgm. the lifers. the hand full of people that are basically on the level of the guy that shot john lennon. guys who still 2 years after his death spend every waking moment of their life trashing the man while trying to convince people that its common knowledge lebron is 10 places ahead of kobe all time. if they truly believed that shit they wouldn't be this obsessed. believe me i'm not trashing allen iverson anymore or tmac or vince like i used to 20 years ago... when i know kobe is above a guy i leave that argument in the past. and i even left the jordan argument in the past because i conceded that debate. i'm not that crazy where i would say one thing one minute then do the opposite the next. i do believe both lebron and kobe are a step under jordan and battling to hang onto that "next best guy to ever play" .... i think kobe is 2nd and lebron is 3rd if you don't just go by skills or careers and just go by the respect level players and fans have for these guys.
its silly to think either of lebron or kobe aren't in that near goat stratosphere. i would never say kobe is 10 spots ahead of lebron with a straight face. i think a real argument can be made that both guys are 6th and 7th all time at worst.... to just say lebron is 2nd or goat and kobe is in the mid teens like some of you f*cking idiots do is the reason places like this are almost dead and gone.
your own fear of a dead man is gonna be your own undoing in the end. i know i'm getting sick of this place and i'm the only kobe fan left

hey if you wanna say lebron is better than kobe go right ahead. its when you list every single other guy from 60 years that had even close to a good enough resume inbetween lebron and kobe because you're an insecure retard. thats when i lose respect for this place. stalkerforlife was a good contributor to ISH and a valued member. he left because he doesn't respect any of you because of sh*t like that. kobes death really hurt him and he wanted to come here and celebrate kobe but he knew some people are still that much of a lowlife scumbag that they would just trash him and belittle his accomplishments in a disingenuous way that isn't honest or truthful to themselves so he knew it would be a waste of his time. in death you celebrate their life. you don't mock it. the hatred should have died with kobe. to fear a dead man to the point where you still treat him like your enemy is a very weak mindset and very off putting to most people. the integrity of ISH is completely gone and basically on the level of realgm at this point. only difference is instead of having to ban every kobe fan they all just walked out on you

lebron couldnt even make the playoffs out west without a hall of fame teammate
and without an allstar level sidekick he never made the playoffs out east.
I not only made the playoffs in the west. I came 1 rebound from eliminating the 2nd seed sun's with the league mvp and I didn't have a sidekick that ever made an allstar game and won't even sniff the hall of fame
"playoff mode activated" for lebeon means 10 straight losses to bottom feeders in the east
"playoff mode activated" for me equals 40 point averages for entire months
lebrons never been able to do anything on his own and that's why he quit on Ilgauskas and Levin love and failed to elevate them to hall of fame status like i did for gasol.
before i got Pau and lebron got love and big Z they were all 1 time allstars at the very least. love made it 3 times before joining lebron in fact.
why was i good enough to turn a 1 time allstar in 7 years into a hall of famer but lebron wasn't good enough to turn a 3 time allstar into one. why did lebron fail them
because 1 title in 11 years is why. 4 finals losses and 2 finals sweeps is why
i never had that kind of consistent failure with another allstar beside me. ever

Kobe was in his prime and got bounced when Shaq left until a hall of fame teammate in his prime joined him.
LeBron in his prime was winning MVPs in 2009 and 2010 with a box of scraps.
When Kobe got a box of scraps he lost in the first round in his prime.
Neither Kyrie nor Kevin Love will make the hall of fame.

He had 2 good career years out of a 13 year career and that was all before Cleveland. Kevin Love would be done in the NBA by now if not for that albatross extension that Dan Gilbert gave him.

Pretty sure Durant leads any MVP list. Of course any MVP discussion in mid November is pretty irrelevant anyway.
Curry is well off last year's numbers. I haven't looked at what everyone else is doing but I would think he would be 3rd at best behind Durant and Jokic.
Curry's numbers will be a little closer to Durant's after tonight
