View Full Version : Trump makes good arguments for Authoritarianism
No trolling and I'm not saying this as the media presents it, but I thought his speech last night he clearly pointed out the disadvantages of democracy and democratic institutions especially when he compares the problems in America compared to China and Russia. He clearly thinks that Russia and China has better leadership compared to Dem and Republicans.
I've always heard that being Democratic was an advantage, but with how divided things have become, I think Trump is the only one who can say it as it is.

Republic is a type of democracy. It's full name is democratic republic.

Nope, that term is misleading. Republic is not a type of democracy, despite usually having many elements of it.

Yes, it is. It is not a direct democracy, but it is still a type of democracy. I believe the term for it is called 'representative democracy'. Look it up.

I think you misunderstood. Representative democracy can be a system under a republic. But a republic is not a representative democracy.
