I'll admit I was wrong. I overestimated how good this OKC team is, inexperience is playing a huge role and I underestimated Indiana's grit.

How is your take on how "SGA is the best two way player since MJ" looking? There are levels to bad takes. :lol

Admitting being wrong? That’s a first

Is it blatantly rigged or are Okc just that soft and mentally weak?:facepalm
They look like a totally different team one game to the next.

Go pacers in game 7 I guess

Psychologically I think its better for OKC to get blown out than if they lost a close one. They are most dangerous when they are desperate. They will be desperate in game 7.

I think it has something more to do with winning it at home. Like game 4 last year with boston's only loss against dallas.

Correct. This is also one of those throw the tape out games. Just played like shit and got their ass kicked by a desperate team too.

Not ideal but it happens.

Yep, not shocked at all by this game. They gritted out two close wins in games 4 and 5, and it was simply Pacers turn at home to get them back. When Pacers don't turn it over they look like the better team. Game 7 is going to be one for the ages.

What, do you think I'm going to melt down and recant my statement because he's having a bad game? He's still been the best player of the series. The best player of the entire post season for that matter.

That said, if OKC blows game 7, then it's a Lebron-esque choke job.

Indy winning Game 7 would be an incredible achievement. OKC is 10-2 at home, their losses coming in very fluky defeats where they blew a huge lead late and lost on a last second GW. And outside of those losses, with the exception of Game 5 against Denver, they've been straight up wiping the floor with their opponents. I'm too lazy to do the math, but I wouldn't be surprised if their home MOV is like 25 ppg in these playoffs.

Only LeGOAT's been able to win a Finals Game 7 on the road in the last nearly 50 years.

Of the Finals Game 7's post 2000, they all honestly were relative tossups to me going in. This is the first one that could potentially be a bloodbath. I wouldn't predict it, but I could really see the game potentially going that way, a la Denver.

Well son, there are levels to this.

I just feel like SGA makes more of a living off it.

SGA (and Brunson) are some of the most egregious floppers Ive ever seen.

Not a single drive goes by in which they dont flop.

luka takes stepback Js a lot, no flopping in those.

Jokic literally jumps on defenders' backs like prime Harden to bait fouls. We all saw it. Whines to the refs on every single play when there's something on the line.

SGA is the best guard in the league at finishing through contact. He might look to initiate and draw contact on all his drives but that's what NBA players are trained to do, he's just the best at it. He's nowhere near as bad as Brunson. I'd be a hypocrite if I hated Shai for doing what he does when Kobe and Wade did the same damn thing.

Well then, this series turned out to be much more memorable than expected. These Pacers—the biggest Finals underdog since the '04 Pistons—forced the first Game 7 on the biggest stage in nearly a decade, with three of the first-four games (including a historical fourth-quarter rally by Indiana) being competitive down the stretch.

Still far from the most marketable matchup—I make no mistake about that—but the series's development itself has been much more hyping than the (gentleman's) sweep most of you predicted. Let's cap it off with a Hardwood Classics-esque Game 7. :pimp:

There's definitely some parallels to the '04 Pistons here with these Pacers as neither team has a superstar leading the way. 4 guys scoring 10+ ppg for OKC while Indiana has 8. All 5 of Pistons' starters averaged 10+ a game in that '04 series while the Lakers only had Shaq & Kobe with no one else being able to make any shots to provide consistent offense. Difference here obviously is that the Pacers don't have an ATG defense and they have a weakness on the court that the Thunder can attack.

The Pacers have basically gotten blown out every time they step on OKC home court. They have almost no chance in this Game 7. They'd have to shoot 60+% from 3 to offset the ref disadvantage alone.

They took their first lead in the game they won with .3 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Good luck banking on that. Indiana will need to be flame thrower from 3 but in a high pressure road game against a great defense... theyre about to get smoked.

They were getting blown out in Game 1 before having a statistically miraculous finish. Banking on that can be tough. OKC has totally handled the Pacers at home. Thats not a wierd take. Thats what has happened. Their time of possesion with a lead is probably like 95% .

They were getting blown out in Game 1 before having a statistically miraculous finish. Banking on that can be tough. OKC has totally handled the Pacers at home. Thats not a wierd take. Thats what has happened. Their time of possesion with a lead is probably like 95% .

Using the terms "handled" and "blowout" is a little much to me. The Thunder have played well at home no doubt though, minus their collapse in Game 1. Game 5 was close until mid-way through the 4th quarter. It's not like Game 6 where the Pacers demolished them going up by 20-30 by the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

The Pacers have basically gotten blown out every time they step on OKC home court. They have almost no chance in this Game 7. They'd have to shoot 60+% from 3 to offset the ref disadvantage alone.

Being in the lead most of the time doesnt mean blowout.

Idk how to read this Game 7, I felt like the last few Finals Game 7's were all basically tossups heading into it. I definitely am not going to say they have "almost no chance", this Indy team has proven to be too gritty and resilient for that; but I am in agreement I could see OKC throw the hammer down like they did to Denver in their Game 7.

Im betting on the pacers game 7. They got it. They are the better team. You win Indiana. You broke me

Better coach
Better bench
5 people who can actually dribble on the court instead of just 2.
Siakam the best player on the court
TJ the best player off the bench
Turner> Chet
Toppin > Chet

I like my chances. Game 7. Go pacers

The only thing im worried about is haliburton pulling a houdini game 7

Damn, and I used to think the Pacers had a chance. But seeing as how you are so consistently wrong….

If things stay as stand, who would you take for FMVP in the case of an Indy win?

Siakam: 20/8/4 on 46.4%
Hali: 15/5/7 on 44.7%

Hali is the QB and hit the Game 1 Winner.

No real difference in 3s or FTs. Siakam has a bit better 3P rate but hit way less, Hali has a bit better FT rate but hit way less.

Assuming Indy wins and no amazing performances in Game 7, Siakam should be Finals MVP. He played terrific defense in the series as well almost like 2008 Garnett-lite. If OKC wins assuming JDub doesn't put up another 40-piece or something, it's pretty handily SGA.

It's because players today have to move much more than James Naismith ever intended basketball players to move around because of how broken the 3pt shot is we see all these injuries now. It's similar to the velocity problem in baseball, analytics tell you the best way to win statistically, but the human factor is removed so guys are just risking injury. I'll take it. Pacers lose their best player for probably most of not the rest of next season and they're up one at halftime against the best team in the league.

Hopefully Haliburton can inject some more life into them in the locker room at halftime.

OKC looks horrendous on offense, tight, rigid. Youth showing.

SGA has to play the whole 2nd half. They just have nobody who can create except him.

Thunder really showing their lack of playoff experience in the finals.

Very sloppy offense and mental errors. Their defense and SGA still give them a chance every night, but they definitely are more talented than the Pacers (yes I know the Pacers are totally an elite team since getting Siakam, but still.

Hoping this is a close game once the 4th quarter starts.

How many of these Ruptures are people pump faking the three and doing that deep launch toward the basket after it? I feel like I can think of like four of them happening exactly that way.

I swear it feels like every kick out is either a three or that same pump fake strong launch that has to be wrecking that part of the body.

Exactly.

They likely advised him not to do that while playing with the same risk factor of others in the recent past. But in the heat of the moment, muscle memory knew that was the right play for the posesssion. And he unfortunately had it snap and fully extend on him on the deep plant.

Shai is playing great. He's the only plus for OKC. 14/7 and plus defense. Jalen and Chet look completely useless thus far, offensively. At least Chet has been great defensively.

Caruso and SGA need to play almost every minute in the 2nd half.

OKC's offense looked really shaky so I wasn't counting them out but the way these guys are flying on defense now man.. ain't no way. 15 Indy turnovers to OKC's 4. Only thing saving them is OKC's terrible 3PT shooting.
