Fitting that it’ll be at Madison Square Garden. It’ll be his first time playing since New York traded him and Nerlens Noel to Detroit during the offseason.

Agbaji had a tough debut with the Stars. Bolmaro was good. Limited minutes maybe because of conditioning after COVID? Frank Jackson was great as was Bass as they won another. Back to back against the same team on the road tonite
SALT LAKE CITY – Longtime NBA veteran and current game night television host Mike Smith called rookie Walker Kessler “the future” of the Utah Jazz.
I think he lasted 3 years. He might be an all-star today though.
A bit early to talk like that. From what I've seen he can play but his ceiling is limited. He doesn't have the length and isn't as athletic as Gobert. We've yet to see him shoot from the perimeter which he does to some extent
“I’m here to tell you that in three years, you won’t remember the center for the Jazz before him,” Smith said, “because he’ll be that good on both ends of the floor.”

He won the Sixth Man of the Year award for the Jazz in 2021 and has proven to be a scorer who can get a bucket no matter the circumstances.

gunner being the key word with that bum
Right off the bat in summer camp he seemed liked a different player. I think the awkward locker room dynamics from the last year or two really wore on Mike. He doesn’t seem like a naturally vocal leader, so his relatively quiet example was less effective. But this year we have a bunch of hungry young guys who are eager to learn and work hard. And Mike is leading that crew extremely well. He seems like he’s enjoying himself a lot more this year. His scoring is down, but he’s absolutely lethal from three at 41%. He’s also averaging a career high 8 assists through 12 games. His fit next to Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert was good not great. But with this roster full of versatility and pick and pop guys he is thriving.
His fit was perfect with Gobert. They were one of the best duos in the league. Again it's too bad we didn't get to see Gobert with this coach and style of play
Will he be on the roster for the remainder of his contract? We’ll see. Just today Danny Ainge said he’s still very willing to make moves if it’s the right deal. And Mike Conley will absolutely be a name to watch with how he’s playing. A bad playoff series or two gave him an unfair reputation that he’s washed. But he’s still got plenty of ball left in him, especially if he’s your 3rd or 4th best player. A win-now team in need of a playmaker or point guard might decide he’s the missing link. If not, it’s fun to watch him be a plus/minus king!
was there ever a doubt Ainge was willing. If the price is right anyone can be had. I'd be happy win or lose with this team if they'd just get rid of Clarkson!
The Jazz have five players making at least one three-pointer per game while shooting over 38% from three. They are one of only six teams that meet that criteria. The shooting comes from everywhere. Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson, and Malik Beasley play the most rotation minutes in the backcourt, and each of them is shooting over 41% from deep on over five attempts per game. Collin Sexton is even coming off the bench and hitting 38% from downtown.
one of those will be nowhere near 41% when all is said and done. Sell high Danny!
The Utah Jazz rank fourth lowest in the percentage of their points coming from the midrange at only 4.5%. That means 95.5% of the team's points come from the paint, the three-point line, or the free throw line. According to cleaningtheglass.com, the Jazz take the league's lowest percentage of "long midrange" shots. That's modern, intelligent, efficient basketball.

not missing Mitchell
The team’s starting guards are both likely to fall off shooting-wise too, as Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson are both above their career-marks from behind the arc. Kelly Olynyk has been a revelation in the frontcourt, but he’s certainly not going to shoot 58.8% from three all season.
it's a given for the bum that he will fall off a cliff
Lastly, we have to factor in that Ainge isn’t married to anyone on this roster. If the right trade comes along, Ainge will make it. He’s playing the long game in Utah. Even if that means taking a step back in what’s been a fun season, Ainge will make a move if he has one.
Clarkson is a step forward. After that I'm happy
"I look at who I’ve been in my career — a guy who could score the ball," said Mitchell. "(But) I’m asserting myself on a different level defensively. Having another dominant guard (in Darius Garland) who can get you 30 (points on any given night) and also having ‘Vert (Caris LeVert), who can do the same, it relieves that pressure a little bit and allows you to be more engaged defensively, to be there and have the energy. And then on top of that, my coaches (head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and his staff) and my teammates allow me to just go, to be myself — whatever that means.
Jazz had plenty of guys that could score. You not playing D or passing it were bigger issues
Utah's run might be short-lived, but Ainge is enjoying it while it lasts. In fact, he isn't ruling out the idea of the club being a buyer at the NBA trade deadline.
"I wouldn't discount anything," he said. "We have a lot of opportunities to make deals with all the picks that we have."
