The MLS is pretty lousy, but that game was slow and sloppy from the poor conditions. That grass at Home Depot center isn't designed to hold water... because it never rains in L.A.. Guys were slipping all over the place, and the pace was even slower than typical MLS.
That said, I can't really watch MLS either. If I'm going to watch Football, it's going to be at an elite level.
wtf? De Guzman? lmao
I guess they assume he won't be picked because of his salary?
Montreal Impact's Expansion Draft is tomorrow, and a list of players the Impact will be able to pick are out. Here are some big names that are left unprotected:
- Freddy Adu (Union)
- Bobbie Convey (Earthquakes)
- Brian Ching(Dynamo)
- Julian De Guzman (Toronto FC)
- Branko Boskovic (DC United.... or whatever it is gonna be soon)
- Mustapha Jarju (Whitecaps)
- Justin Mapp (Union)
- Andy Williams (Real Salt Lake)
- Carlo Costly (Dynamo)
- Zach Thronton (Chivas USA)
Still don't know the Impact is gonna take ones with bloated contracts or not. But they should take some veterans for their first year in the big league.
If I'm Montreal I go after those two.. And possibly Adu, maybe Ching depending if he's a do or nor
Bad news for LA Galaxy, Juninho decides to go back to Sao Paolo and signs three years deal there, ending his Galaxy loan stint.
Juninho was probably the real backbone for LA's championship team while Beckham and Donovan acted as stars of the team. With this and all other possible transfer moves (Becks to PSG, Omar Gonzalez to Club America, etc.), this may be the end of MLS superteam of the West Coast.
Also, as a TFC fan, see ya in the SkyDome this March! :D

good to have another MLS fan up in here
Also Donovan got loaned out to Everton for the winter. Might ruin his fatigue come midseason
But the Galaxy will be fine. They'll waste that DP spot left by Beckham and will get some signings that will go under the radar. But I'm kinda pissed that Beckham left for France, really you selfish whore?

TFC should take that advantage in CCL quarter final series.
Also, Becks is now more like a business man who happens to bend a soccer ball very well. If he moves on, then good for him since playing there means more chance to earn an England team spot at least in the Olympics while making more money expanding Beckham brand. If he stays here, he will still make money.
Galaxy will also have no problem finding the next big name available.
There are rumours that there are two candidates as the replacement for David Beckham, who hasn't decided whether he stays or goes to PSG yet. Those are:
Samuel Eto'o
Frank Lampard
Eto'o, who is playing in Russia and counting money, is younger but Lampard is probably a bigger name.
Becks has been rumoured to lean on signing 1-year-contract with Galaxy though, and Galaxy's other two DP spots are still Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane.
RIP "Pizza Hut Park". Long Live(?) FC Dallas Stadium.
This leaves both teams owned by Hunts Sports Group, FCD and Columbus Crew, without sponsors on their both jerseys and stadiums.
Oh, and David Ferreira, the former league MVP, is rumoured to leave the team.

I heard the Lampard rumor and I think that would be a nice addition. He fits the big market style nicely and Galaxy need central mids as Juninho and Becks(if) are leaving.
I also heard Asmogha(spelling) the Ghanian striker playing in Germany(I think?) is rumored to join the MLS.
Also it's reported that Bolton has made a

How's TFC doing. I thought they came on strong at the end of the season. Fringgs and Kovermans looked great not to mention they seem to have alot of young talent.
Are they rumored to bring anyone in? Are they going to contend in the east this year?

Frings and Kovermans are the core of the team now. If they can keep Plata and Eckersley long-termed TFC will have a better chance than ever to make the playoff for real.
Winter and Co. seems to do a great jobs bringing in veterans who can play with his 4-3-3 system and young guys who are willing to learn, and the system that seemed to be a failure in a making worked well at the end of the season.
I really hope Winter will stay around for at least 3 years. Consistency of the team is what TFC has been looking for for 5 years.

Eto'o is not going anywhere. He is making 30 million dollars a season in salary. The highest paid football player by a margin of more than 10 million dollars.

Oh yea.. Especially with the transfer fee that was paid for him, MLS teams don't buy players from teams as players usually come on free transfers albeit a few.
But I can see Eto coming to US to avoid racism in Russia. I don't follow the Russian league but I hear theirs a ton of racism in there and he'll probably be more marketable in the states.
