Re: 2022-23 regular season. The Tank begins...
As confirmed by Adams’ research: Since 1983-84, when the NBA expanded its playoff format to eight teams per conference, 111 teams have started precisely at 12-6. No less than 101 of those 111 reached the playoffs. The 10 that fell short, furthermore, won at least 33 games … while combining to win an average of 39 games.
There aren’t big egos on this team and everyone, from Hardy to the last guy on the bench, has a lot to prove and that’s a motivating situation to be in. I don’t think that Hardy is that different, I just think he might be in the right place at the right time.
all I know is he isn't COTM!
The Jazz are also going to need continued effort and buy-in on the defensive end from Jordan Clarkson, Sexton, Malik Beasley and Kelly Olynyk. If the Jazz put it all together the ceiling is pretty high, but I think the Jazz are still kind of figuring out who they are on defense.
dump Clarkson and they get better
Basically, the Jazz are often crashing the boards with at least three or four players, sometimes all five. When you have that many guys that are going for rebounds, if the other team gets the ball they can usually pop out in front and beat the defense back down the floor.
they did that more under Snyder and than only sent their centers before having the cormer 3 shooters mostly O'Neale crash the offensive glass the past couple years
Who should play point guard when Conley is not on the court? Wow, what a loaded question.

Butler or Forrest

But what if Utah is no longer content with joining the race for prized prospect Victor Wembanyama? Atlanta approached the Jazz about swapping Collins for Markkanen, sources said, which did not generate any traction.

Have you thought about your future in Utah since they have a team option on you for next season? I’m very thankful for this landing spot since I came here. There are a lot of great people here in Utah and a great fan base. I think it’s the perfect opportunity to show I’m a changed man in Utah. It’s a place where big-name players usually wouldn’t come here, but I don’t know why. Once you come out here, you’ll have a great time.

Malik Beasley: The expectation with us going into the season was we were all underdogs. Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, and Jarred Vanderbilt. Me and Jarred came from playoff teams. I’m not saying we were the main factors, but we did play a nice part in changing Denver into a playoff team and then Minnesota. When we came in, we heard what was expected out of us to be a tanking team, but a lot of the guys in the locker room during training camp said, “Let’s be great.” We have a nice team. If we put it together the right way, we could be really good. To start off, none of us had egos. We all wanted to prove that we’re a special team.

We play way better when we’re just playing. If you watch the film, a lot of the stuff we draw up is straight off reads, and there aren’t always set plays. Coach Hardy has a foundation for what we want to do. Me and Jordan Clarkson move around the perimeter a lot and cut sometimes. Lauri Markkanen cuts all the time. Vanderbilt sets good screens. If it’s serious and we try to play in the half court and be perfect, that’s when we don’t win games. All of our losses have been when we try to be too perfect. Everybody has their role and knows what they’re supposed to be doing.

As a seven-year veteran, I can do that for my team and understand the role. I’m at a point in my career where I want to make money, but I also want to win. I’m down for sacrificing the starting position role and doing the best I can to prove to my team that we’re all in this together. Obviously, I want to get into the three-point contest. I felt like I deserved that last year. I’m trying to continue this journey and be the best player I can be.
