Send Devers down to Triple A. My goodness, 0-16 with 12 Ks to start the season. Dude is swinging at ghosts. Terrible plate appearances.
Knew it was coming.
After a slow start Devers is slashing .362/.469/.691 for a 1.160 OPS over the last 25 games.

Yea, I knew he'd eventually get out of it. Took a bit longer than normal, especially with him essentially sitting out most of Spring Training.
But man, those first 15 games were rough to watch. Swinging late on everything, barely making contact. Glad to see him back to where we expected him to be.

Re: MLB season 2025
Pirates streak of 26 straight games of 4 runs or less was snapped last night against the Brewers.
They tied the current MLB record with a handful of other teams who also accomplished 26 straight

What is Jazz Chisholm story? Thought he turn it around in NY.

Maturity is one. For whatever reason his contact rate is way way down this season. Strikes are up. He got a right oblique injury in late April and he's been out almost a month now. Then you have the issue of him getting ejected for calling balls and strikes then went promptly on social media to argue about it further and got fined. Just struggles all around mentality and physically.

Correct. He’s definitely talented but is always in his head. Which is not a great place to be as a baseball player.

Re: MLB season 2025
If I asked who are the 5 best pitchers and positional players right now. Who would that be? I don’t follow baseball like I used too. Just curious at the top dawgs today. Aaron Judge looks to be having a great start.

I don't know about Top 5, but the Top 3 are Judge, Ohtani and Witt Jr.. Those three players can be swapped around by how well they're playing. 4 and 5 can be argued by multiple players. If Acuna Jr. is healthy he would be up there, but he just came back from being injured a whole year. Soto and Tucker should be considered as well.
For pitchers it's probably some combo of Skenes, Skubal, Webb, Brown and Yamamoto.

I think you’re mostly correct here. Definitely have to replace someone with Garret Crochet on the pitching side though. He’s an animal.

Yea no doubt. Ohtani is starting to heat up. He's the league leader in homeruns now after a semi-slow start. Judge is still in contention for the AL Triple Crown. 1st in batting, 2nd in homeruns 2nd in RBIs.

Its absolutely criminal how little run support he gets in his outings. Guy will go 7+ innings of 3 hit ball and maybe a run, only for the Sox to give him a run or 2 of support, if that. :facepalm

Yea that’s gotta suck but luckily no one really judges pitchers on wins anymore so it’s not as demoralizing as it once was.

Milwaukee is 42-16 (.724) against the Reds in the last 58 games with 12 consecutive series wins.

My Reds suck.

Re: MLB season 2025
I saw they beat up on the Reds ace this afternoon, worst outing he's had this season.
Brewers did the same thing a few series back against Philly. Jesus Lazardo first 11 starts this season he threw 67 innings and gave up 16ER. Against Milw. 3 and a 1/3 with 12ER. Their bats have come alive, especially Yelich.
