its been a breakout year for Brek Shea.
is it possible Ferreira going down early was the best thing for the team long term? Shea may still be stuck at CB had DF never been hurt.

Shea is ****ing awesome. I always like his play and is definitely an option for the USMNT. He's young and has offensive flair which US players lack. Much better than Robbie Rodgers or Bornstein. He's probably in the race for MVP this season actually. Along with Henry, and Donovan.
Anyways Dallas has been on a tear lately.. The class of the MLS and they don't really have any notable players which makes it great.. They are also averaging good numbers.
As for New York it's been draw, draw and draw... Our defense/GK has been awful and we just can't buy a win. We'll draw teams no matter, with our players coming back hopefully we can get on a hot streak.. We just need 1 win to get things going.
I feel like I'm mad late to the party but I just heard the rumors that Didier Drogba's camp had called some MLS teams to gauge interest in the Ivorian striker.
Now I hear that's not confirmed and Drogba is already linked with... you know... top tier teams being one of the best strikers still, but it hasn't stopped me from imagining if that went down.
First off whichever team got him suddenly has the best player in the league when healthy. I'm not sure anyone in the MLS can stop him when he's got his mind right... well not a lot of people can actually now that I think about it. He'd likely tear up the MLS.
But immediate impact aside... he could open the door for more African players. Cause remember, he's like beyond legend in his native country. And actually in most of Africa. So young players would see their idol go to the MLS and they may want to follow. Also I think many young players go to France and England and can't cut it at the top divisions. So why not then come to the MLS doing two things:
1) Improve the level of competition in the U.S.
2) Bring a new style of game (the African players tend to be bruisers)
Not only that but he's what 33? Not in the twilight of his career but just slightly past his peak. He could set a standard for world class players to come over a little earlier in their careers.
Now again he's already been "confirmed" to be going to a multitude of teams so it's like 1% that this will happen if it was ever true in the first place... but what a tantalizing 1%.
Our Greg Sutton has been awesome, hasn't he? :D
Sutton has actually been good for us.. People love to bash him but in truth he just had one awful game.. He saved our asses some games and the defense in front has been pretty bad this past month. We've been so ****ing bad in set pieces/free kicks it's just horrendous..
Good to see us get a breakout win.. It's just what we needed, now we get our guys back and it's time to get on a streak.
I feel bad for you Kaiteng.. Toronto just seems like a lost cause but it shouldn't be too hard to turn it around. 2 years ago NYRB were the laughing stock of the league and since has done a full transformation. Toronto just needs some better management.
But I don't think Frings is the answer DP as well. He seems a bit old and way past his prime and shouldn't they be going after a defender? It seems like you guys lose 3-0 every other game.

i've heard as early as two years ago when his career winded down in Europe he'd like to play in NY. The Cosmos new owner is rumored to be willing to pay big money for him. (Note: I'm not stuck in the 1970's, NY is getting an expansion franchise, a second team and they will take the old NY Cosmos name.) Clearly the assumption is he wouldn't be going this year if he went there.
The only thing that worries me with him is he seems lazy? Wrong word, that kind of Randy Moss laziness. The "i'm not inspired to play today for some reason" type of malaise. Would MLS inspire him to be Drogba? Chelsea at times didn't look like it inspired him to be Drogba.

No that's fair. I've always compared him to Tracy Mcgrady. Both were physically on a plane of their own, and should dominate at will, but sometimes they do get lazy and don't seem to give it everything.
It's a fair point I'm not sure if he'd be THE Didier Drogba we all know at Chelsea, but he'd still be an upgrade in competition.
But again I hear that AC Milan wants him, Tottenham? maybe I can't remember, and then Marseille of course he loves it there, and Real Madrid. But before the Turkish controversy went down he was apparently headed to Galatasary. Now it's a little in the air.
How is my man Martina doing in Toronto Kaiteng?
Drogba might not work well in MLS. See Denilson.
I'd rather take an old but skilled and competitive midfielder instead.
+1
Link about this drogba rumor? Red Bulls need a goal keeper and a mid fielder... I wouldn't mind seeing Forlan coming to MLS..
oooo Don't compare Drogba with Denilson.. Drogba would be a fine addition to this league with the fame and skill he has. Look at the impact Becks and Henry have made on and off the field. Give Drogba some time to settle and he'll have a greater impact than Henry on the field and Henry is pretty damn good..
If Seattle can manage to pick up Drogba that can booster their rep even more. With a solid crowd, constant winning and some fame power they can be a very marketable team.
Link about this drogba rumor? Red Bulls need a goal keeper and a mid fielder... I wouldn't mind seeing Forlan coming to MLS..
Drogba has been rumored for awhile now.. Especially with Torres up in Chelsea it looks like he might be on the way out. I
Red Bulls need a LB.. GK hasn't been the issue of the squad at all, it's been terrible defense and stupid mistakes. Red bulls don't need a midfielder at all and we have good depth their, Backe just needs to stop getting BJ's from Mehdi Ballouchy and send him packing. Lindpere, McCarthy, Taino, Richards are a solid starting core and not to mention a player like Austin Da Luz and Jan Gunnar Solli there as well.
When can Drogba actually sign with a team?
I'm going to their game against the Chicago Fire next weekend:banana:
Revs playing a bit better than I expected though that really isn't saying much at all.
This Seattle Sounders game got out of hand quickly.
Any Colorado Rapids fans. This guy Caleb Folan came on the pitch and he looked like a monster next to everyone else. But then he got to playing and it was not a monster you saw.
It was like that guy in school that got big over summer, and then the basketball coach recruited him even though he had little skill. That's what I feel like watching this guy today. Is that the case all the time or is it just a bad day for him?
Huge save by Saunders, Real Madrid is putting the pressure on like expected, but the defense and Saunders are doing one hell of a job. Can't believe he's still a #2 GK without another MLS team trying to acquire him. If Omar leaves the squad, I'd use him to get a good CB .
3-0 Madrid, but that last goal by Cristiano was a thing of beauty.
Wright-Phillips with a very solid goal to put ManCity Up 2-1
Who actually watching Seattle vs Man U tn? It should be a good game

holy shit, man united beat seattle 7-0 :oldlol:
what happened there? obviously manu is better but 7 goals better?

it was 1-0 at the half when the starters were playing.
The Seattle reserves just flat out got crushed in the second half.
Man U lost to a 10 man Kansas City last year. Friendlies can get crazy sometimes.
HOLY SHIT 7-0!! I feel bad for terry boss as Wayne Rooney and Park Ji Sung tore him a new one.
Also the season is starting to slip for the Red Bulls..
trying to figure out how TFC was screwed.
That dude (Plata?) was def off-sides on the goal.
anyone watch chivas vs real madrid ? 3-0 RM gets the w.
There were a lot of non-calls on many obvious fouls including one or two in the box.
Welcome to MLS :D :D :D  :pimp:
Break Shea is a ****ing animal. Dude possesses some skill which americans lack and is a really good attacking option. A epl team like Fullham or Bolton should make a move for him as they have history with Americans. He's reminding me of a different clint dempsey and he certainly has the potential. Albeit playing against Toronto that goal and buildup was great and he also looks like a great guy.
I like him alot at LM for USMNT. At that position he'll play more of a winger which for me seems like his true postiion(kent probably knows better)
Philly gona get spanked by real madrid tomorrow
Mike Magee's goal against ManCity was a thing of beauty. What can't Mike though? Play GK and score a thing of beauty.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1LsqynyBNk
 :applause:
When I saw Magee just blast it, I knew it was going in.
I was impressed by the Galaxy throughout the whole game as well.
2-0 Man U, Anderson and Park scored. Man U attacked less but got much more. The difference of skill levels overall is clearly shown.
no kidding...
Man Utd ain't even playing hard n they making it look easy....smh MLS ****in sucks
MLS can't bring the best to play today due to injuries and other commitments. No Donovan, no Rafa Marquez, etc.
They can't also play too hard because they are still in the regular season and don't want to risk injuries.
Still, losing to the second best soccer team in the world is next to nothing to be shame about.
if they cant play too hard why the hell do they even have these all star games.....shit is pointless anyways.....all they do is lose n play like ******* b/c they afraid they might get injured...none of that shit exists in europe...n don't come at me with "its for the fans to enjoy" type bullshit excuse... if the fans wanna enjoy it then they should play their best instead of slacking off....n besides, they fans enjoy them playing during the season like in Europe.
Was a fun game to watch but I just don't think the All-Star festivities are meant for the MLS unless its East v West or something else along those lines.

Because All-Star games are a tradition in the states for the fans to be entertained by seeing the best players in the league compete with one another. Throw in the fact that is a meaningless (besides financially) exhibition game in the MIDDLE of the season, with most of these players focused on doing well in the actual league itself or on Champions League Duties (Shea), getting healthy (Donovan & Omar G.) and then throw in the fact that they only practice together for about a week, if even that much is just a recipe for losing, especially to one of the worlds elite who have chemistry and have spent more time together and are trying to get into shape for the season.
FCD is scoreless at the half vs Alianza FC in the CONCACAF Champions League
:applause:
FCD takes the first leg of their qualifying round vs Alianza 1-0 in El Salvador.
Second leg is Wednesday
Just watched the highlights of the rout against Vancouver and just
I can't see a reason why the Galaxy shouldn't win the Western Conference and, at the very least, make the MLS Cup.

FC Dallas is only 3 points behind Galaxy and have been without league MVP David Ferreria almost all season. They have been missing Fabian Castillo (under 20s World Cup) for several games as well. Both should be coming back in August to September and will really give Dallas a huge boost. Let's also remember Dallas beat LA last year in the playoffs.
