"I thought, for the most part, we got good 3-point looks," Hardy said. "You know, JC going 0-for-7 is definitely an anomaly. I thought he took good ones tonight. I thought he took catch and shoots. I didn't think that he was really forcing up his three ball. We got some good looks that just didn't go tonight, which can happen. That's the part about the 3-point line, there can be a lot of variance in shooting from night to night."
not an anomaly. They aren't good shots if the guy can't shoot. Making it real hard to like ya coach!

I like him. Kind of reminds me a bit of Rubio but in a good way! :oldlol:
Rebounding, though, was particularly harmful for the Jazz, with the Nuggets pulling down 58 boards to the Jazz’s 38.
doubt they god rebounded by 20 very many times since 2014
Lauri Markkanen came out scorching hot, giving the Jazz a 9-3 lead, but the Jazz would struggle to have consistently good offense for the rest of the game. The other player who wasn’t hit with a cold spell was Mike Conley, who continues to play great for the Jazz. Conley went 4/7 from the field, 4/5 from three with 5 assists in just 23 minutes. It’s clear the Jazz were trying not to overdo it with Conley, as they are on the front end of a back-to-back and aren’t looking to wear out their veteran point guard. There may also be other things going on in the background. This is now 3 games in a row where Conley has been in the low 20s in minutes. Are the Jazz trying to keep him fresh and healthy for a potential move?
got to keep him healthy
Jordan Clarkson, who’s had a fantastic season so far, was hit by a cold spell and couldn’t find the bottom of the net. For the game, Clarkson shot 1/10 from the field and 0/7 from three. Clarkson has been a major cog in the Jazz matching that has gotten them their 4 wins so far this season. For him to struggle makes it really difficult for this Jazz team to overcome bad night from multiple other players.
counting on that bum is a recipe for disaster
All the available players on the Jazz got minutes tonight, but what’s interesting is that 10 players got minutes in non garbage time. The lineups were different all night as it appears Hardy is willing to put different rotations on the floor based on in-game needs and that the Jazz are on the front end of a back-to-back. It’s refreshing how fluid everything is for the Jazz. Clarkson normally plays in the 30s in minutes, and with his shot not falling Hardy went to other players. The other thing that’s interesting about this is it shows that Hardy is willing to play rookies. Agbaji would likely never see the floor last season, but this year it’s looking like he might start earning more minutes. It’s nice to see.

I sure miss COTM :D

you can't call Lauri an all star and than say they don't have that player. He should be able to generate a look over someone any time

he's your lottery pick who played a few years in college already. He should be ready to show some promise
Lauri Markkanen looks like a major piece of the Jazz franchise going forward, while Clarkson and Olynyk could be highly sought-after trade pieces with their current production.
let's see how much they get in exchange for him before we say he's a major piece
On top of that, they’ve been fun to watch due to their fast-paced offense, rapid ball movement, and strong individual performances from Markkanen and Clarkson.

Clarkson is the one thing that is not fun about it

NEED TO SEE MORE OF IT. cLARKSON NEEDS TO GO!!!
[h=1]It’s time for the Lakers to let the Jazz save their season[/h]
there is no saving them
Another thing to consider with Conley is that he’s spent the last 3 seasons learning how to play off of one of the most ball-dominant guards in the league in Donovan Mitchell. He’s already made the transition from primary star playmaker to off-ball playmaker, something Russell Westbrook hasn’t been able to do. In his time with Utah he’s become a spot-up 3 sniper that can also run a secondary pick and roll when needed. He’s the perfect compliment to LeBron James. Imagine the shooting percentage from Mike Conley if he has LeBron James setting him up. It’s easy to see that working out really well in an incredible way.
yeah but how many games will Lebron, Conley and Davis actually be on the court together? That's the problem they will have
But that’s not all the Jazz could offer. A lot of people have mentioned Jordan Clarkson as a potential trade piece, but I would argue the Lakers should be asking for Malik Beasley. Beasley, who the Jazz acquired in the Rudy Gobert trade, is another sniper from three that could fill the Lakers’ massive deficit in shooting. Beasley is playing just 24 minutes per game off the bench and is playing in a primary playmaker role. Yes, Beasley is shooting 30% from three this year, but he’s a career 38% three-point shooter. Those numbers will go up once he’s on the floor with LeBron James. Just two seasons ago, Beasley was regularly putting up 20 points per game in 32 minutes per game. You could argue he’s just as good as Buddy Hield is for Indiana, and the Lakers could probably get both of these players.
everyone is better than Clarkson but Clarkson is the one that needs to go
Per game, Olynyk is scoring just 1 point less per game, is putting up nearly 3x as many assists, and is shooting it at a higher 3P%. And he’s doing this in 5 fewer minutes per game. When when you look at a per-36 comparison, the numbers get even more surprising. In the same amount of time on the floor, Olynyk is putting up more points per game, more rebounds, more assists, more steals ... everything. Danny Ainge must have been looking at this when he made the Bojan Bogdanovic trade. And this has panned out in the best way possible for the Jazz, who have seen Olynyk be a high-level starter for them at the PF/C position.
and Davis and Lebron should start up front. Olynyk off the bench with Gay and Clarkson. Conley starts
There is one issue here. The Jazz traded for Olynyk on September 22 and can’t trade him until two months after the trade. This means the Lakers would have to wait till on or around November 22 to make that move. If they can somehow string together a few wins up until then, then they could make the move.
be too late by then
Sure, the Lakers would have zero draft capital after the trade, but you’re the Los Angeles Lakers. You’re the biggest brand in the league. LeBron James decided to join you. Anthony Davis forced his way out of New Orleans to join you. Isn’t that the model you use to improve your team? If you’re relying on picks to build your team it’s because your front office isn’t doing a good job in free agency. You have the advantage every other team dreams of. It’s time to make the move that will help you not waste another season of LeBron James and have confidence in your ability for the future.

The ship could have sailed on that though, not that we specifically know what Utah were asking for in return. Clarkson’s impressive numbers are making him an even higher commodity around the league, building market competition which subsequently increases the asking price.
who is more stupid the Jazz owner or who ever trades for him?
