Nike vs Adidas... who would you put your money on?

Adidas bought Reebok to have a better chance at taking Nike on.

But Nike still includes Converse, Jordan, Shaq, Starter, etc.

Who would you bet on to have a bigger % of the market 10 years from now?

Adidas+Reebok or Nike+Jordan+Converse?

The brand's premier spokesmen seem to be:
Nike: Lebron, Kobe
Converse: Wade
Jordan: 'Melo

Adidas: KG, Duncan, TMac
Reebok: Iverson, Yao

Who's endorsement strategy is more sound?

nike. check out the nike plus. it's the future more than the adidas 1

nikes smack adidas in every way possible. adidas has like 3 pairs of solid sneakers, nike has more than 30

Definately Nike. They have LeBron James, who's brand I could very well see evolving into a Jordan-type Brand as far as popularity. They also have Dwyane Wade and Melo so their products are very marketable with those big names.

Then to make matter worse, Nike has the best TV ads by far.

a couple of my faves

Nike has way too much money to throw around.

Nike's shoes are collector items as well. People flock to buy two pairs of the same sneaker. One to rock, the other to keep. No one will do that with adidas really

Word. Nike's got the limited Jordans and the Dunk SB's which got the skateboardin ninjas goin nuts. Here in Seattle we got the Adidas Store like a block away from Niketown so on Saturday Mornings the Niketown will have lines around the block and when you walk down to the Adidas store and it's dead empty

As a shareholder of both nike and apple, I think this is the best product ever.

...

tHE REAL HEAD TO head battle would be the AI' vs. The Jordans.
The Answers have a good stronghold on the Urban front, while all the ballers get the J's.

B-Low 06-13-2006 04:10 AM

I mean Nike's obviously head and shoulders above the rest, but Reebok's got a good idea. They have AI and Yao, i mean look at the variety of people they can appeal to. The urban market, the international market....its just got a global appeal to a larger market
