JJ the drunk
Former Duke star Redick arrested for DUI

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - Life after Duke has turned infamous for J.J. Redick.

According to a report by television station WTVD, the former Blue Devil star was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving while impaired.

Citing a police report, WTVD said that the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time leading scorer was arrested shortly after 1:00 a.m. EDT after Redick committed an illegal U-turn to avoid a police checkpoint.

An officer followed Redick and reported a strong smell of alcohol on Redick's breath and glassy eyes when he was pulled over.

Redick, who was released on a $1,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in a Durham court on July 17.

The 2006 Wooden Award winner, Redick averaged 26.8 points and made 139 3-pointers as the Blue Devils went 32-4 this past season. He is expected to be a first-round pick in the NBA draft on June 28.

Hes a college kid he got drunk made a bad choice. At least no one got hurt.

Maybe he did this so the Jazz wouldn't draft him

He is still white, the Jazz will still draft him. If he wants to play somewhere else he should try a reverse Micheal Jackson.

He only blew .11, which is less than 3 cans in an hour. That's bugger all, even in Australia. In the US their beer is weak as piss, so I think while yes he did break the law for being over the legal limit and should pay the penalty, he wasn't totally ****faced and a danger to all around him. It shouldn't be blown too far out of proportion. It doesn't make him an alcoholic, or mean that he is any less of a ball player.
