How will Lakers do next season?

I think a lot of things will happen.

Kwame will average 12 ppg with 8 rebounds. Kobe will average 30 + ppg.

They will win more games next year due to the fact they lost about 10 games this year where it came down to the wire.

If we keep Lamar we will do way better this year.

we can probably win 50-55 games.

maybe even go deep into the playoffs.

That seems a little optimistic to me.

Don't get me wrong, I've been a Laker fan for a long time and am as much as fan as almost anyone, but looking at our team and the fact that the West has been stacking up, especially if a couple of the trade rumors go through, gonna be tough in the West.

Kobe will do his thing.

Odom will be more comfortable and perform like he did in the playoffs, well, the good part.

I say 50 games in the most optimistic way.

KG would answer my prayers!

It all depends on what direction the Lakers take this summer. If they trade Odom for basically two rookies and cap space, they could take a step back while the young guys work hard to learn the system.

Banks will help defensively and he will produce on the offensive end of the floor. Kwame Brown may have found his niche, playing center for the Lakers. I can see him averaging 14 ppg, 9-10 rbg, and a few block shots. If Brian Cook could be more consistent, he can contribute double digit scoring with his shooting ability.

Ask me again in August and I'll have an answer.

If you guys toss your team stud (Odom) You will be lucky, make that EXTREMELY lucky to win 20 games.

With Odom, you can realistically win 40-42 games.

Okay.... With Banks(do it mitch),we can win 50 games.

Banks
Kobe
Odom
MLE
Kwame

Good defense team

Maybe, it depends on how Banks can improve, and if he TAKES the ball up the court himself and not Kobe.

It basically Depends on how much Kobe handles and shoots the ball.

If Kobe actually lets Lamar and Marcus play in a game, they can do well. If Kobe has another 35 shots per game season, they will suck.

Banks and Parker are a nice pair of point guards to have, but ideally they'd be able to land someone better than either of them

I'm all for keeping Odom. But 20 games win season with out him? I think the Lakers would win at least 30 with just Kobe.

Well, without PJAX they only won 34 games, so it might be a stretch, but I can see it without Odom how any team will be able to stop the Lakers.

insidehoops 06-18-2006 03:06 AM

If Odom goes, it obviously needs to be for a big-time player like him, or else 29 defenders will surround kobe all game long while everyone else misses their open shots

Spiderman08 24 06-18-2006 08:22 AM

Odom is overrated. I still like him though.

Anyway, LA should win 50+ games next year.

Everyone will be more comfortable in the triangle and we will get some nice new players. 50+ wins IMO.

Regarding Kobe, I think he won't average 30+ ppg next year....28 ppg but he"ll play more of an all around game.

hle_81 06-18-2006 09:18 AM

they'll probably be around .500 (41 wins), maybe a few more wins. but they key is odom, we know kobe can score but he needs to give odom more touches. kobe will probably avg around 30ppg, but odom's #'s should be around 20/8/5 for them to be a good team.

Sure, it's Kobe's fault... :stupid: :ohwell:

XxNeXuSxX 06-18-2006 12:15 PM

That's actually quite reasonable, Kobe Touches the ball on 95% of their possesions.

Spiderman08 24 06-18-2006 02:21 PM

Sure buddy, whatever helps you go through the day..

Odom just isn't as good as some people think.

He can't average 20 ppg in the NBA. First of all, he's not agressive. Second of all, he's inconsistant. He's a good player but nothing special. I wouldn't mind to see him traded.
