Tiago Splitter into the mix

The San Antonio Express-News reports: It remains to be seen if Splitter is ready for the “franchise savior” mantle fans have been waiting three years to drape around his broad Brazilian shoulders. It isn't even certain yet that Splitter will start. Ten years into his pro career, he is still a work in progress. Splitter's offensive game, limited mostly to finishing pick-and-rolls and putbacks, reminds many Spurs staffers of Fabricio Oberto. Given a choice to win a game, one coach said he'd take an outside shot from DeJuan Blair over a jumper from Splitter. Splitter isn't going to average 20 points. His numbers from Spain — 15.4 points and 7.1 rebounds — are probably his ceiling. In the NBA, Splitter will be cast as a supporting actor, not the lead.

that sounds a bit more realistic than some of the talk going around of him being the next TD

I think his ceiling might be a bit higher re: rebounds though. pts sound about right.

funny how the hype goes to work on people

Tiago Splitter has a lot of quality and no doubt, he will be an important San Antonio Spurs player. Nevertheless, he must improve the FT shot!

I think he can improve his rebounding numbers a little. Maybe to 8.5 or so max. The points I'm not sure if he's gonna get to 15. Topping out around 12-13 seems more likely.

In any case, massive upgrade at center. He should be the best center we've had since DRob. Though obviously not anywhere even remotely close to as good as him.

Truthfully i think Dajuan's gonna be better than this guy. Last year he had a beastly 28 point 21 rebound game.
