I heard Kendall Marshall today on local radio. I don't follow a lot of CBB so I will have to read up on him. He's apparently the pg from NC

Marshall is a great floor general and passer but has absolutely zero offensive threat when it comes to him scoring.

According to draftexpress, players in the 10-16 range are:

Damian Lillard - PG (very athletic scoring PG)

Kendall Marshall - PG (seen as best case andre miller)

Perry Jones - PF (stock unknown. used to be seen as top 5. strong finisher at the rim, soft touch around basket)

Austin Rivers - SG (athletic. was very streaky/inconsistent in college, but could end up being a great scorer all around the floor. has a strong crossover)

Tyler Zeller - C (faster for a 7 footer. plays back to basket. doesn't have many moves in the post. his jumper is rather unknown as he rarely goes to it, but converted about half the time. good at drawing charges. not a great shotblocker, but stays with his man with good positioning.)

Terrence Jones - SF/PF (not consistent. has a lot of talent, but I doubt the suns would get him, don't feel like writing more about him.)

Terrence Ross - SG/SF (good jumpshooter. i think he'd fit great alongside a distributing PG. not the best by any measure at getting to the rim, but is rather explosive and can catch teams off guard. has improved his defense on and off the ball)

Out of these names, I'm most interested in Ross and Marshall. I don't like score first point guards aside from Allen Iverson and Derrick rose(if you consider him one). Well, and Stephen Curry if you consider him one as well. Anyways.

All of these names except Zeller and Ross seem somewhat coinflippy. Especially the Jones'.

Chad Ford: Lots of teams buzzing about a Dion Waiters promise. Teams say he's canceled all upcoming workouts. Blazers, Raptors, Suns all suspects Twitter

I hear Damian Lillard is working out with us. I say we take him, seems like Drose 2.0, very athletic.

Local radio says, John Henson (6'10" PF NC) will be working out with the Suns soon (along with about half of the teams in the league).

Also, said Damian Lillard (6'3" PG Weber St.) will be selected anywhere from 6 (Portland) but will not make it past the Suns (13).

Re: 13th Pick

A quick google search shows that national media is saying the Suns have possibly promised Dion Waiters they will select him.

The Phoenix Suns have quite a few areas on their roster to address in the coming months, but it appears the team will go with a guard at the 2012 NBA Draft. While some mock drafts have Duke guard Austin Rivers heading to Phoenix with the 13th overall pick, this latest mock draft from Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports has Syracuse's Dion Waiters being taken by the Suns.

Quote:

Dion Waiters, SG, Syracuse: Agent Rob Pelinka pulled Waiters from the Chicago combine -- which means his client likely has a promise from someone in the lottery. The word is it may be the Suns, who could use a tough, scoring guard like Waiters.

Waiters is a bit undersized at 6'4 and 215lbs and does not really have a true position on the court, but he has a lot of potential and can score in a variety of ways. He is also a winner, playing two very successful seasons with Syracuse in college.

One drawback of Waiters' game is that he is not a point guard, which could be a concern for the Suns should Steve Nash leave. At the same time though, Phoenix could potentially have a dynamic backcourt if Nash returns and they add a player as talented as Waiters is.
