The Meteor Man was created by comedian/film director Robert Townsend in 1991 and hit theaters in 1993.

Meteor Man was so popular Marvel Comics created special limited edition comic books on Meteor Man.

After discovering the remains on a meteor, his gains super powers. Those powers are x-ray vision, flying, strength, healing powers, freeze, can talk with animals and his best feature he can grab a book and will become whatever the the book is about for 30 seconds.

The Golden Lords were his enemies.

I loved that movie as a kid. It didn't hold up too well though. That book power was great in the climatic scene. Ok........... now I do want to rewatch it again.

He was pretty awesome in his heyday. I haven't seen him in anything new in over a decade.

He still writes and directs straight to video features and network films. He just directed Michael Clarke Duncan's last performance before he passed away. He is currently producing a basketball story.
