Draft Thread
Well, might as well get this started again, since the draft is the next big thing on the C's radar.
Post all draft-related material in here. |
We could trade the pick to Golden State for their 9th pick and Monta Ellis, he's gonna be good soon, at least then we'd still have a top 10 pick
|
Trade the pick, we don't need anymore kids. We should concentrate on developing who we have into a unit, like the Bulls did 3 years ago. Delonte, Jefferson, Gomes and Green is a good nucleus. Work it in together.
|
add gay/sheldon to that and we'd be golden
|
The concensus top 6 picks:
Adam Morrison, LaMarcus Aldridge, Andrea Bargnani, Rudy Gay, Brandon Roy, Tyrus Thomas. I wonder is any of them slips to 7. And if none of them slip, there's still some solid players to grab (O'Bryant and the 2 Williamses, amonst others.) Its gonna be an exciting draft. |

If this is true, it is great news, for obvious reasons.   :pimp: :applause: :D |
Shelden may just be worth a top 5 pick. He doesn't look like a star at all but this class may not have any star and he does look like a starting, solid 4 for 10 years barring injury.

I think the Celts should trade their pick.
I'd trade the pick for Brevin Knight and a future first rounder or a pair of second rounders. Maybe Brevin Knight and Sean May. |
Quote:
Brevin, Okay. But why would the Celtics want Sean May...? All he would be doing is take away playing time from a more superior AJ, would he not? |
The Celtics need to take a shot on a real baller, I think.
If they play it safe, no good will come of it |
Hey Real Men Wear Green, when are we doing the mock draft?
|
a shot at a real baller would probably cost us a decent amount fo the young core, plus i like the potential for a future dynasty more than just trading for garnett or o'neal now, teaming them with pierce and seeing what they could do, even then there is no guarantee we would be in the eastern conference finals, i just think the celtics need to ride it out a lil more and good will definitely come of it, but i do like the idea of trading pierce for high draft picks next year to possibly land oden or durant.

It is possible that Al Jefferson gets good this season, as they hoped he would last year.
And Tony Allen showed flashes a while back before the injury and legal issues Also, Perkins got in shape. And Gerald Green, well, he can jump and stuff But, what about Pierce and Wally |
what about delonte? first game last season he went off for 14, 9, 9 and 4 blocks! for a point guard! and he kept up steady averages for the season, he may never be an elite point guard (tho i think he has a shot), but he'll be steady, al and perk could become good if they stay in shape and form a dynamic duo, they trade wally, it has to be done, every celtics fan wants it to happen, tony allen and gerald green could both be pretty darn good, if they keep pierce and draft someone like roy or gay the team could be in good shape, provided wally is traded for someone who can help out the team.

West is a nice complimentary player, on offense, at least. I don't know a lot about his defense
