Why did Hornets trade Kirk Snyder for Marc Jackson?
Why did the Hornets trade Kirk Snyder for Marc Jackson? They have plenty of big men, and now, a shortage of guards. Was there an underlying factor, or did they just get carried away in the trading frenzy like Portland on draft night?

Milkman 07-20-2006 11:15 AM

yeah i dunno. their only guard is chris paul unless they count mason and peja as guards? they have no backup point or 2 guard

qwerty 07-20-2006 11:43 AM

I think Marc Jackson is an expirer.

Bulls_Fan20 07-20-2006 11:49 AM

But was Snyder making that much money? It couldn't have hurt them too much financially to keep him on the team if they needed a backup. They already shipped JR Smith out, and Chris Paul only has Bobby Jackson, Macijauskas and Moochie Norris (don't know if either of the last two are still on the team). I'm guessing Jackson has a fairly large contract because he is a big man, and Snyder has only been in the NBA for a year.

basketballer4 07-20-2006 12:56 PM

They never traded Kirk Snyder for Big Jack.

And qwerty, Moochie Norris and Maciauskaus aren't on the team anymore, they got cut.

Skywalker 07-20-2006 01:43 PM

Didn't they already have Mark Jackson?

basketballer4 07-20-2006 01:46 PM

Yeah, they got him from the Nets.

Why did the Hornets trade Kirk Snyder for Marc Jackson?
the trade was with Houston, and it was Kirk Snyder for a conditional 2008 second-round pick.

and yes, the Hornets only have Paul and Mason -more of a F- as guards. not a single bench. wtf are they thinking :confusedshrug: i understand they had trouble with JR, but why get rid of Snyder without getting a guard back? if this was planned, why draft Hilton Armstrong when Ronnie Brewer or Thabo Sefolosha were still out there? :banghead:

Hornets better get some guards some way -like by trading some of the 678 forwards they have-.

Bulls_Fan20 07-20-2006 03:01 PM

Oh, guess I just got mixed up then. And I was just making a reference to Portland making a lot of trades - I didn't actually mean to diss them. I thought they made some good moves too.

Voice of Reason 07-20-2006 03:02 PM

Paul, Mason, B.Jax, Butler...4 guards.

artificial 07-20-2006 03:05 PM

i didn't know B. Jax was with them... they signed him? and rasual Butler is a FA, and as far as i know they haven't reached any agreement yet.

Rab 07-20-2006 03:06 PM

They are talking about starting Peja at the 2.

Bulls_Fan20 07-20-2006 03:07 PM

Who would the SF be then?

MoPet24 07-20-2006 03:18 PM
