Pistons lack of energy in transition defense leaves Lawrence Frank peeved
The Pistons (5-13) aren't a great offensive team by any stretch. They turn it over too much, which cost them a game Friday in Memphis. They lack 3-point shooting. Their most promising emerging player, Andre Drummond, is limited primarily to dunks and layups on the offensive end.
But there were some hints that they had moved beyond their frequent episodes when a lack of defensive intensity was compounded by offensive frustration, particularly during the first half of last season.
Not quite entirely, it turns out.
"I don't think you ever really get past anything," Frank said. "I think sometimes it just rears its ugly head in tough times and adversity. That's what it is."
