Post OT: Best Hip Hop/Rap Artist All-Time

Alright this thread is open and please feel free to post your Top 10 and explain why. It doesnt matter who you have in there as long as you explain that its all good. Everyone has different taste. If possible, please post a video for each of artist on your top 3 list but its not a must. Here is my top 10 :

1.Tupac (No argument here, well some might say its Biggie but Biggie was just a better lyricist but Tupac was just overall. Its like comparing Larry Bird to Jordan, Jordan is better but not by much).

Video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ybbn_Kx-e_0

2.Biggie(Crazy lyricist, i still cant beleive this guy use to come up with lyrics like that. I dont care what kind of a music you listen to but you have to respect this man because he just knew how to write music).

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsIS050-1UI

3.Big Pun(Why do good artists always have to die ? This is the true Latino Assasin with killer Hip Hop lyrics. This guy couldved rocked anything he touches, it doesnt matter if it was Rap, Hip Hop or R&b music, Big Pun would just kill it).

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwOs7mDXkxk

4.NWA( The first real famous Hip Hop Gangsta group. They are legends for what they did for Hip Hop. I mean you have a bunch of kids who are hungry for fame and make there music heard. You have the best Hip Hop producer ever in Dr Dre,Eazy E a legend of his own, Ice Cube and much more).

5.Snoop Sogg( The only good Hip Hop signer that survived. He can just connect words and make a legendary record out of it. He is just one of those artists that were really gifted with the voice and the mind to put together a good song).

Snoop top 5 ever? HA. I laugh at the representation of the abstract that is your opinion.

Instead of top 5 ever (which if it doesn't include Biggie, JayZ, and Nas is just plain wrong, end of discussion) I'll do my top 5 favorite.

1. Obie Trice
2. Brother Ali
3. Big L
4. Scarface
5. Gucci Mane... what can I say? He's dope. I've been listening to him sarcastically for so long that he's somehow become a serious favorite. Isn't it weird how that works? I can't go 48 hours without giving My Chain a listen. That song is so bad that it's ... awesome. The musical Snakes on a Plane, is what this guy's career is.

In my opinion there's no such thing as the best.

There is only an individual's favorites.

Honestly, both are pretty overrated. Although, my #1 would be 'Pac because of his topics

2. Jay-Z- I guess you can't have Jay above BIG simply because Jay has borrowed so many of his lines, but Reasonable Doubt was unbelievable. Lyrically, his best cd by far, but The Blueprint and The Black Album were both great. Interchangable flow.

My one and two are pretty clear cut, but everything else is a blur to me.

If you're wondering why I don't have BIG at two, it's because there's just something I don't find that amazing about his music, I don't know what, but it's there. Everything he does is great, there's just somethin somewhere I don't like about it. I'll let you know if I ever figure out what it is.

.....If we're discussing the best than I'm still waiting for my first vote,
My talents a model for all emcee's to promote,
Cause my lines keep hip-hop heads higher than Kate Moss sniffing coke,
And to the threadstarter...if you think my claim's a joke...watch me sink yo ass as my rhymes keep this thread afloat,
And to you hater's...I know you can't cope with my label as the G.O.A.T.,
So let me help explain why I'm rich while yo lame life can't be fixed...just like yo pockets...you broke,
While I'm just Dope,
Who channels his thoughts like a TV remote,
N*gga's I'm just too damn good,
My paper stands higher than a 100 year-old Redwood,
And if you don't know what I mean...I'm speakin of a green theme,
When I'm on the block with the crew they call us the "Mean Team",
With that,
Whatever I say I must mean,
So hence,
I only dream of the cash or the cream,
Wake me up if I'm not the deemed the best you've ever seen....
