Default Free Agent Targets: Boozer or Bosh or None of the Above?

Personally I think we should go after Bosh and sit on the cap space next year. boozer doesn't play D, bosh does. they both would fit our system well that relies on guards who penetrate and bigs to spread the floor.

both are going to make plays in the paint as well, something sheed can do but rarely gets agressive with.

or is there another player you think we should try and snag?

Once scientists prove that Bosh is actually a poorly disguised dinoaur he won't be able to play anymore. I wouldn't risk it.

But honestly any big man of that caliber would be nice but I can't see either of them signing with the pistons

i don't think you realize how many "poorly disguised dinosaurs" there are running around out there... watch the news or the election!

in other news, i'm not reptilian prejudiced, i like bosh. and yes i think theres a good chance we could get a quality big, we even have a shot at amare.

I think Bosh would be much better than Boozer.

Is Stoudemire's contract going to expire soon? That would be ridiculous Stuckey, Rip, Tay, Amare, Sheed.

He's got a couple seasons left in him. He doesn't even care if he gets shots anymore, I'm sure He would be willing sign for a small contract to extend his career.

Why not pick up Okur? Used to be good as a Piston, I could see him doing so again. And yeah, if we got Amare that would be brilliant.

Why stay away from Stoudemire? If he learned how to rebound and defend he would be the best big man in the game. He's already unstoppable offensively.

I don't mind Boozer but I would rather see Bosh or Amare on the team. I think we have legit chances at getting one of those guys. With the economy the way it is, there is no way that it makes financial sense for Bosh to stay in Toronto. Look at what the exchange rate is right now. If it stays similiar for the next year he will definately be on his way out. 20 million in the US is more than 20 million in Canada. With teams like Detroit, NY, and NJ potentially having cap space he will be forced to think hard about it. Detroit will have the best core group of players so it will be a place that is enticing.

I think both Bosh and Lebron could be talking to each other about going to NY. In which case Amare would be fine with me. If we can get Sheed back for less money having him and Amare starting will be a tough lineup. I know people want Sheed traded but where else are we going to find another 7 footer with his skills? I think it's a necessary evil that we are going to have to keep Sheed to be competitive.

actually okur would be as good pick up, i'd rather have him than boozer who has injury problems

with the young guards who can get in the paint shooting bigs are going to be the best fit

Iunno if MC will trade Amir, he seems really fond of him.
Also, I think we should try to keep our young guys. We have a sold unit in Amir/Arron/Rodney, bring a couple nice forwards in there and we could own a couple 'chips in '11, '12 . . . '13? '14? I don't know, I think keeping those guys together we could form the next Duncan/Ginobili/Parker or even Garnett/Pierce/Allen. May not even look like they have that potential now (they do to me *shrug*) but you have to keep in mind that they all have been said by teammates to be some of the hardest workers ever.

Sorry if that strikes you as a homer post, lol. Just putting forth my two cents.

Exactly, keep the team young. Make Tay the leader and bring in Bosh/Amare (it's a toss up, really). I'd prefer Amare though, I just like him better. ;)

Amir could be very good down the road but I doubt he will ever be a scorer down low. I kind of imagine him like a smaller, more athletic Marcus Camby.

I don't think Stuckey/Afflalo/Amir will be comparable to the Spurs' big 3 because we're missing the Duncan. I think Joe will find a way to get a premier big man to complete the team with the capspace we'll have.
