Default OKC Thunder trade Chris Wilcox to New York for Malik Rose

They go from Tyson Chandler to Malik? I'll take it

Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has acquired forward Malik Rose and cash considerations from the New York Knicks in exchange for forward Chris Wilcox. “We are pleased to add Malik to our roster,“ said Presti. “He brings a wealth of experience and veteran leadership to our team.”

Knicks finally have something kind of like a real big man? They could be serious next year.

I don't understand why the Thunder do this, but OK, good move for NY.

The 8th spot in the East should be an interesting race. If RJ doesn't get traded, the Bucks still seem to have no intention of going away. The Knicks/Bulls/Bucks/Nets all seem to have a legit shot.

Marc Stein: Hopefully you've seen all the clarifications on New York's moves.

The Knicks have swung two deals.

No. 1: Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson to Chicago for Larry Hughes.

No. 2: Malik Rose and cash to Oklahoma City for Chris Wilcox.

Just over an hour to go before the trade buzzer sounds . . .

This is done apparently, Wilcox and Hughes are on the Knicks.

decent trade for both teams but meaningless if wilcox doesn't re-sign this offseason.

Not really, the Knicks would like to make the playoffs this year, Wilcox helps them do that, Malik Rose does not.

And no the Knicks would not want to resign Wilcox in the summer unless it is a 1 year deal.

I assume they get a pick or cash or something.

Maybe Wilcox was becoming an unwanted presence?

It makes no sense.

I certainly hope they get a pick that just wasn't mentioned in the article, makes no sense otherwise. Especially since Rose actually makes more money than Wilcox, so not only are they losing a good rotation player for nothing, they are also losing money.

I know, why does anyone want Malik Rose? He makes MORE money than Wilcox?

It was unclear whether there were any additional parts involved in the trade.
