Default How best to get to Heat Game

Mrs. Kidder and I are coming down from Cleveland to see the Cavs play the Heat on Mar. 2nd, we are staying in Ft. Lauderdale and will have a rental car. Can anyone help me with info on how best to get to the arena, so far as where to park and so forth? Is there rapid transit?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Bill

There's a pretty big parking garage at the AAA and not too much walking. Make sure you get really good Mapquest directions to the arena though because the streets in Miami are hella confusing and it's easy to get lost

The parking at the AAA is expensive ($20+). There are plenty of parking lots within walking distance that charge less ($5-10) and make it easier to exit once the game is over. But if you don't want to walk, you can't lose parking there.

Other than that, just go to MapQuest or Yahoo Maps... its fairly easy to get to the arena if you follow directions. Take I-95 south, exit on Biscayne Blvd. and you can't miss it.

Thanks for the help folks. We're looking forward to seeing the Cavs play on the road, with the added benefit of getting out of the Cleveland weather for a couple days. After paying air fare, hotels etc. I suppose it won't kill us to pay $20 for parking.

It all went pretty well. We got there early, parked at the arena and went over to Bayside to eat and wander around. Pretty painless getting in and out of the parking. Nobody got after us for our Cavs attire, seats were good, people were nice, entertaining game & the Cavs won. All in all a good weekend. Thanks for you help.

If we knew you were a Cavs fan we would have gave you the wrong directions.
