Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics has been suspended one game without pay for elbowing Cleveland Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao in the groin, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. From the looks of the replay it didn't look as if he was aiming for the groin. It looked like he just threw an elbow and it ended up hitting him there.

Glad the NBA took action against Ray for that. That hit was completely uncalled for. He could've got in his face and punched him like a man instead throwing an elbow to his sack as a woman would. The suspension should be worse, but at least Stern did something about it.

Why would you elbow upwards when you are on your knees and a dudes waist is right there at your head? Seems like it hit too perfectly to be accidental
