Default Does Wallace make Celtics favourites?

We have a pretty good team..

Artest, Kobe, Odom (not confirmed), Pau, Bynum, Fisher

the celts have

Pierce, Ray, Wallace, KG, Perkins, Rondo and are recruiting grant hill.

This move certainly makes them better but very Old...look for the Magic, Spurs to sign Glen davis away from the celtics..

The lakers need and upgrade at PG or hope that brown and farmar can improve...

Sasha or morrison need to get their shot going or trade one for nate robinson.

Morrison for nate in a sign and trade should be easy...nate gets around 5 mill...and morrisons qualifying offer is not picked next year and the knicks can get him off the books...we get a high scoring guard off the bench like the celts eddie house...

Nobody should be worried about a 35 year old Sheed and a 37 year old Grant Hill.

Lakers are still the favourites.

I think we're still the favorites. Ray Allen is basically the guy they need to perform well offensively otherwise they struggle as a unit.

Rasheed off the bench is nice yeah, but with KG and Perkins in there for a lot of minutes, you can't expect Rasheed to be there more than half the game.

Artest was the best possible replacement for Ariza because of the additional offense. If the lakers can put their egos aside and play as a unit like last year, we will dominate again. Problem was Ariza didn't need the ball, but Ron needs the ball. So we may need to make a tweak in the starting 5, i.e. Bynum off the bench since Odom is not a scorer.

Bynum would be able to get more shots with the second unit.

Well...Sheed does make Boston better, but his addition isn't as much of a concern for us because Pau and Lamar can handle him in his advanced age.

However, I hope that Cleveland doesn't pick up Marion...

Also, can someone tell me how Nate Robinson will fit in our system? I'm not against it, but just wondering.

The Celtics are probably worried about Kevin Garnet coming back at 100 percent after major knee surgery at his age. It could matter so they need Wallace as insurance.

KG, PP, Allen Wallace and Grant Hill? Would be a fantastic team if this was 2003 Are they trying to become the oldest team in NBA history?

The thing about Wallace is that I'm scared of his impact on the other players, specifically big men. If they keep Davis then that will be a scary team and will definitly keep them on par with the Lakers. People are too quick to forget that Davis has hit multiple game winners in the playoffs. One in the eastern conference finals as well and both of them being well over 15 feet. Imagine bringing in Sheed, who has tons of experience, especially playing against the Lakers in the playoffs who will guide and mentor a kid such as that. Big Baby is the one i'm scared of . I remember when KG went out last year and they were trying to rest up Perkins he would post 20/10 numbers and the Celtics would win. This team has nothing but winners, you don't just cruise to the 2nd best seed in the East last year. Cleveland had a 66 win season.

0, 5, 8, and 13: Rasheed's point total for The Pistons in the playoffs this year against The Cavs. He was 11 for 30 shooting overall. He shot under 42% in the regular season. How exactly does this signing push them over the top?

Don't under estimate a motivated Sheed. He's still 7' and can match up well with guys like Dwight Howard. He also didn't have any help at all last year in Detroit down low. He was the go to guy in the post (well if you can call it that because he likes to shoot outside). But you see what I mean. In Boston he will have KG next to him which will take off all kinds of pressure from him. Plus having a guy like Paul Pierce who can create his own shot will help a lot too. This move definitely makes them the favorites in the East.

Grant Hill would just be a back up. I'd love to have him for 15 minutes or so a game. He was productive in Phoenix, so there's no reason for me to believe he won't be as a Celtic. Especially surrounded by better talent. It is sad for me to watch the Celtics get better.......

A motivated Sheed is dangerous but what are the chances Boston finds that guy again? at 35 it will be tough for him to give them much. If you only average 6 points per game through a series against a team with a very weak frontcourt like the Cavs that says it all....thats more than just lack of motivation.

I don't think the Cavs front court was weak. It was a style that didn't match up well with Orlando but not weak. Sheed is very under rated at this point.
