Default Mcgrady on the Lakers from 1999-2004

Since Mcgrady and Kobe were in the league at the same time and in their primes at the same time this is easier to do since Shaq was the best player on the Lakers.

How many titles for the Lakers with Mcgrady and Shaq from 1999-2004 instead of Shaq and Kobe?

The main knock on T-Mac is he is a loser, and doesn't care about winning or has no heart or w/e. I think that's cause he really wasn't on winning team. If he was on that team, I think no1 would say that about T-Mac, and I think they could get some rings, maybe more since T-Mac might not get in a feud with Shaq.

Do people who post these threads remember how close the Lakers were to not winning titles during the threepeat? Were they even around back then? It wasn't like Shaq just destroyed everyone as the Lakers easily defeated every team in the playoffs.

In the 2000 WCF game 7 the Lakers were down by 15 at one point in the 4th quarter and it took incredible play from both Shaq and Kobe to win that.

If I had to bet, I'd say that Shaq + TMac would have one ring.

Here's what I don't understand... if Kobe can be easily replaced with T-Mac, then why do people hate on T-Mac so much? If he would've won a championship with the Lakers, then surely he's not a loser, just a good player who's been unlucky with the teams around him.

They would have similar results. The only thing that seperates Kobe from the McGrady's, Carter's, and Iverson's of the world is that he has almost always been in a winning situation. Talent-wise he is not inseperable from the other elite guards of his era, and that is my main knock on him being considered a top 10 player.

Lmao @ these threads.

Tmac is who is he is - a good player that just cant stay healthy.

Games played by T-Mac each season from 99-04 and ppg
79 - 15.4
77 - 26.8
76 - 25.6
75 - 32.1
67 - 28
78 - 25.7

The next few season so if he didnt feud with Shaq
47 - 24.4
71 - 24.6
62 - 21.6

Here is Kobe's Games played by season during the same period
66 - 22.5
68 - 28.5
80 - 25.2
82 - 30
65 - 24
66 - 27.6

T-Mac played more games during that span and scored just as much. You have failed.
Their was only 2 seasons were Kobe played more games than T-Mac over that span, and they split who scored more points per season.

k, so let's just go by the Kobe vs. T-Mac part over that period of time. He said T-Mac would have still been just an injured player who is good but doesn't play, but he played more during that span.

Maybe one title if they got lucky.

LA barely won in 2000, needed an enormous 4th quarter comeback, a game that Kobe had 25/11/7/4.

2001 was the year Kobe became a superstar. Averaged 29/7/6 in the playoffs. 35/9/4 against the Kings...33/7/7 against the Spurs. He had games of 48/16 and 45/10.

2002 Kobe played another big role as he played a big role in LA beating Sacramento in Game 7. In the Finals, Kobe played like a Finals MVP and had a 63% from the field in the 4th quarter in the Finals. Averaged 27/6/5.

So maybe one if they got lucky considering the fact the Kobe>McGrady and LA barely won 2 of the years and the middle year Kobe was dominant.
