I've heard it's a one year deal, but some are saying it's a 2 or 3 year deal.

If it's for the 1 year it's for the league min.

Nice addition, I could see them giving some teams trouble in the playoffs.

Like they did last year? They really don't have a shot to do anything. They shouldn't have to ride the starters as much now, but I can't see them doing any better than last year.

Awesome! Got some depth at the bigs.

Still a couple of players out there to round out the bench - Stromile Swift and Wally World would be two good additions.

And if no one signs Murray, then maybe we can bring him back.

Damn..I wanted him back in Cleveland.

wtf Joe..Your looking for a ring and you go to Atl? And its only a 1 year deal..I heard he wanted at least 3..shoulda came back to Cleveland if its only a one yea deal.

It's not just one year... But it appears it's for the league min. A 3 year deal actually makes more sense I think. We'll see.

I was just going by what the link says..and a 3 year deal would make more sense? he's 34 right now..

What I meant was that it looks like a one year, but it's also only for the min. From his standpoint, I'd be looking for a 3 year deal. But I guess nobody was offering and he had to settle for the league min.

Good signing. It gives them a big that is a respectable defender. Another big man or two, and they could give the elite 3 trouble come playoff time.

Why is it everyone is so happy they get Joe Smith on their team, yet he only makes the league minimum? Why? Isn't his value obviously higher?...

Certain guys like that....Joe Smith, Kurt Thomas, Grant Hill, Matt Barnes....everyone's thrilled to sign these guys, yet they always seem to take little money....baffles me......
