Re: The JO Trade
Rasho's 8 million expirer is what kept us under the luxury tax. His salary coming off the books didn't put us in position to sign another $8mm player but just keeping us from paying out the ass in tax penalties. Keeping Jack would've been even more impossible if the trade hadn't been done, and we'd be over the lux tax at a time the franchise is in it's most dire financial straights since the mid 80s. Let alone it netting us Roy. Hell, even with equal salaries I wouldn't give up Roy for JO and I don't think many rational people would, not with the current state of our roster. It also would've meant nothing but minimum salary roster fillers last summer, no Earl, no Dahntay. There are potential problems next year once TJ picks up his option (he is...right?) being right up against a surely decreasing cap, but I'd still do the trade 100% of the time.
