Default Warriors weekly

7-GAME HOME STAND BEGINS TONIGHT: After going 1-2 on their recently completed road trip, the Warriors open up a 7-game homestand tonight against the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets (11/9)…This matches the longest homestand in team history that does not include neutral site games...Prior to this homestand Golden State had played seven-straight home games in their own building just five times...The Warriors have twice hosted 8-game homestands, however those included neutral site contests.

MORE NEWS FROM THE "HOME" FRONT: Additionally, Golden State will play 12 home games (more than a quarter of their home schedule) during the month of November alone, which marks the most home games during any calendar month in franchise history (according to Elias Sports Bureau)...The Warriors had previously hosted 10 home games during a single month on several occassions (most recently last November), but the team has never had more than 10 home dates in any previous calendar month…In fact, beginning with tonight's game vs. the Hornets, Golden State will play 11 of its next 12 games at ORACLE Arena...Thus far, the Warriors are 1-1 at home during the month of November.

MASTERY OF MAVS CONTINUES: The Warriors defeated the Mavericks 107-104 on 11/6...It marked their fourth straight win in Dallas, which is the most by any team since since Dallas moved into American Airlines Center and the most since the Sixers won four straight in the city of Dallas from 11/13/97-11/10/01...Additionally, it's the most consecutive wins by any Western Conference team since Utah won seven straight in Dallas from 11/15/97-4/7/01...Golden State took the 2005-06 season series with the Dallas Mavericks 3-1, marking tthe first time that the Warriors had taken the season set between the two teams since 1997-98 (3-1)...Overall, the Warriors have won the last three meetings and six of their last ten with the Mavericks after losing the previous 20.

ELLIS SHINING BRIGHT: Monta Ellis is averaging 16.0 points in 28.0 minutes of action thus far in 2006-07...He is the only Warrior to reach double-figures in scoring in all five games this season...In addition, it matches the longest double-digit scoring streak of his career (10-plus points in five straight 4/8/06-4/15/06)...On Opening Night vs. L.A. Lakers the 21-year-old paced the Warriors with 22 points -- which marked the second 20-plus effort of his career (previous was a career-high 27-point effort in the 2005-06 season finale at Utah on 4/19)...Last season he appeared in 46 of the last 51 games of the season after appearing in just three of team’s first 31 contests...Over his final 17 games, Monta averaged 11.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 25.0 minutes...In the last seven games of the season, he averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 34.1 minutes -- scoring in double-figures in six of seven games.

BIEDRINS SHOOTING THE LIGHTS OUT...STILL: Andris Biedrins is averaging 7.6 points and 6.4 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game this season, while shooting 81.0% (17-21 FG) from the field...In 68 games played in 2005-06, he shot 63.9% (118-185 FG) from the field...His shooting percentage was tops among all NBA players with 150-or-more shot attempts...In fact, according to Elias Sports Bureau, Andris finished the season with the sixth highest field goal percentage in NBA history among all players who have tried a minimum of 150 shot attempts in a season…Despite this being his third year in the NBA, Andris remains the youngest Warriors player at 20 years old (does not turn 21 until April).
