Re: New plan may be for a 66-game NBA regular season
I still think it makes too much sense to have a deal done (considering how close they are), but then again, it made sense a few weeks ago when the union ended up disbanding. It's amazing how these guys can just let egos run wild. I'd love to think that the holidays would make everyone less adamant and we'd put these stupid agreements on paper and start the freaking season, but I've been let down way too many times for me to actually think that will happen.

Doesn't matter what the deal is, the players will reject the next proposed offer and the season will be in rags.
Reports say the sides recent negotiations have picked up where the last ones left off meaning the players are probably willing to accept a 50-50 split with a restrictive luxury tax as long the NBA eases up on some of the other things (specifically rules for tax-payers). Another report suggests that Stern was asking the owners if they'd be okay with the MLE being the same for everybody (i.e no specific small MLE for tax payers).
