The Knicks are on the verge of landing Grant Hill, according to two NBA sources. Hill, the Suns free agent, deliberated for the past few days between making the jump to New York or staying with the Phoenix Suns, which are in rebuilding mode. Hill is close to accepting the big challenge of the Big Apple. “It’s not 100 percent done, but he’s leaning,’’ one source said.NY Post

Hill played his first season in Phoenix under the coaching staff of Mike D’Antoni, Dan D’Antoni and Phil Weber. “If it wasn’t for his relationship with Mike and the staff, this wouldn’t even be a consideration,’’ one source close to Hill said yesterday.
Sucks for Landry Fields and Iman Shumpert, getting pushed in rotation, but I could see Landry and/or Grant backing up Melo at the 3.
I'd love this. Always a big fan of Hill. I know other Knick fans disagree.
I think he's a good character guy. I think it's important we build a good culture. Some Knicks fans are going to come in whining (WHY DIDNT WE SIGN AN IMPACT CENTER?) but the fact is there is no big player this will cause us to miss out on.
I also thinks this may signal Nash in PHX might not be staying because you know Hill talked to him and Nash either couldn't convince him to stay, or told him its best to bail.

Couldn't agree more. I think he'll be a good influence in locker room, and for Melo particularly. It's up in the air whether Melo is a "good character" guy, so having Hill stabilize locker room is smart.

Plus he can ball.
How is that "up in the air"? What has he ever done to show he may be a "bad character" guy?
For Vet's Minimum Deal? Love it, if anything it sucks for Bill Walker.
jeffries landed the vet min, hill probably will get a chunk of the mle

Yeah, i think it's unfair to label him bad character. He doesn't get in trouble, doesn't cause problems. He's not a locker room leader type though. He's just someone who loves to play. I remember last year people got all pissy because eh wasn't distraught over every loss, he never will be. He plays like he would be though so i could care less.
