Terrible move.

They are going to have to pay him this year anyway, so why not keep him and see if he can produce? If he is a problem later, then they can always amnesty him then.

Terrible trade by Otis Smith. Lewis's contract next year can be bought out at 50%.

So how exactly does this work in terms of contract length? I guess you have to take the same years as the original contract, otherwise you cannot seperate which offer is the best like 1yr/8m, 2yrs/12m?

How many more years has Arenas left? The shorter the contract, the better the bids will be.

Teams under the cap get first dibs to sign him via the amnesty bid process, then I think he becomes a free agent if he isn't picked up.

Won't be joining the Hawks or Heat.

David West to Atlanta for Kirk Hinrich (expirer).
This trade is for basketball reasons.

Hawkfan is wrong AGAIN. Amnesty can only be used between today and Dec. 16. Therefore: They had to do it now or never.

How the mighty Hibashi has fallen down since the gun incident in DC. He might have something left though but he probably needs to be "the man" to prove that.
