I always maintained this ... even before Harden blew up big in 2012. I saw his potential in 2011. I don't like Westbrook's intangibles, attitude, and approach.

If they would've traded Westbook for CP3, a distribute first PG or even Rondo.

CP3 / Harden / Durant? That wings a ring, I'm fairly certain. It's such a well rounded trio.

Westbrook / Durant I'm iffy about. The basketball intelligence is lacking. Plus, I don't like 6'4 SGs without a solid jumper PLAYING PG.

No, Westbrook is a better player and a much better defender. Harden without Westbrook basically means he'd be out there with Martin as their backcourt. That backcourt couldn't cover a kindergarten girls team.

Nice so basically you say YES HARDEN WOULD FIT BETTER WITH HIS BACKCOURT MATE CP3. Nice to skew the question so ridiculously.

Obviously if they traded Westbrook it would have been for a pg not a shooting guard.

They would have traded Westbrook for another PG or possibly even a low post scorer, but most likely a PG. A legit PASS FIRST PG at that, which would benefit the team even more.

And even at the PG distributing duties, Harden is better. He's a better passer, has better court vision, and even is more willing to get others involved than Westbrook.

I thought all of this was kind of obvious, that's why I mentioned CP3 as a back court mate. He was up for grabs for trade in 2012, and I'm sure NO would've loved to get a high flying wire act in return to keep fans. That situation IMO would fit Westbrook's agenda better, too.

Actually, I think Westbrook is quite clearly a better passer/playmaker than Harden is. I think the media has distorted your view, they always say Harden is better, but when I watch them, it's pretty clear Westbrook is better, at least to me.

Harden takes much smarter shots though, so I suppose he is a better playmaker, but he's not a better passer.

Im not sure if Durant would be willing to take the backseat to King James v2. But if he was, yes they would be better.

I feel as if his play-making abilities are distorted by this season. For one, our squad is young as hell, AND they had no experience playing together. Add the facts that Harden is asked to shoulder much of the scoring burden and that our guys tend to "get out of his way" (i.e. no off the ball movement, standing on the perimeter for the best spacing possible)...

He's already making plays at a pretty high level despite all that too.

He is a better passer and knows when to pass.

Westbrook has improved this year but Harden is the better playmaker. Yeah, I know WB averages more assists but that doesn't mean he is the better playmaker. When Durant is often the recipiant of your passes, it's a safe bet you are going to get assists.
