The **** even happened to that team? The Griffin trade was a disaster, but back in '16 they were very good.

Van Gundy met with Pistons officials within the hour and now team moves onto a search for a new President of Basketball Operations and coach. Those jobs will be separated now.

Sources: One candidate expected to be strongly considered for a role in a revamped Pistons front office -- Brent Barry.

SVG became GM and coach and they couldn't draft anyone for years worth a damn

Stanley Johnson went from somewhat decent as a rookie, to a complete scrub as a sophomore overnight.

Yeah I thought that kid would develop nicely. Dude is a scrub at this point.

Here's another funny SVG tale: Drafting Luke Kennard over Donovan Mitchell

- Passed on Devin Booker
- Traded for Griffin's awful contract
- No pick this year

Why Brent Barry? Go for someone like Sam Hinkie

Yeah they really should go for Hinkie.

Lakers might have finally found some chumps to take on Deng

Deng + 28th pick this year + Zubac

Get it done Pelinka

Safe to say it's time to relocate the franchise to a new city. It should happen, it must eventually happen, although I'm not sure what sort of mediocrity tolerance the owners have.

Detroit is dead.

Damage already done with the Blake Griffin contract. Stan botched the draft too passing up on Booker in 2015 and Donnie Mitchell last year.

As a P's fan I'm conflicted. SVG's GM moves have been ok, but his on-court coaching leaves me pulling my hair out.

He's constantly yanking dudes off the floor when they're hot, sticking with players who are stinking it up, and plays guys when they're clearly injured. I can think of at least 3 different instances in which a player would get injured and limp through 3-4 possessions before a dead ball. What the hell? Why knowingly handicap yourself?

I was all about SVG when he finally dumped Josh Smith, it seemed Detroit had made some serious progress. Even eventually made it to the first round (before being blown out...) but nowadays SVG is looking like he's constantly on the verge of a stroke or at the onset of Parkinson's.

That's not meant to be disrespectful. I think SVG's intensity can get him far, but his stubbornness keeps his teams from going all the way, IMO.

Hinkie was blackballed from the NBA. Rightfully so.
