golden state would get blown out and possibly swept by the new look lakers, they just don't have enough size to match up

i don't like either of those teams to beat la right now. the lakers are too versatile, too big, too tuned in on both sides of the ball, and they have the best guard and best big man in either matchup.

Unlike the Mavs, we won't choke against GS. LA is 3-0 against Denver this year. I don't see either team giving the Lakers any problems

I could easily see the Warriors beating the Lakers. I could easily see the Lakers sweeping Golden State. It is completely unpredictable.

easily? what? come on, LA frontcourt would destroy them. and they have never been able to even contain kobe. hell, i've felt good about a playoff series against them even before LA acquired gasol. la won almost every recent regular season matchup against gsw. (9-1 in last 10 I think)

The Lakers would walk through Golden State. Odom, Fisher, Gasol, Bynum, Bryant

I call that the best starting five in the league right now and Odom, Bynum, Gasol and Bryant are very hard to defend and the Warriors have no defense. So yeah.

The Jazz Vs. Hornets match up would be very entertaining. I think that would go seven games. Imagine Williams Vs. Paul in a game seven against eachother. It makes me cream my pants.

I think Dallas can out Phoenix with the new pick ups of Jamaal Magloire and Jason Kidd. Kidd won't stop Nash but he can slow him down. Dampier and Magloire are both good centers and could slow down Stoudemire and/or Shaq. I don't even think Dirk needs to play AWESOME for Dallas to win this. Obviously he has to play good, like 22 a game but yeah, Dallas has that match up.

Golden State's lack of a big man will hurt them (and when I mean lack, I mean lack as in traditional, strong, defensive big man). Boozer killed them, and I believe that that was part of the reason why they got past Dallas (and their unbelievable hot shooting).

The Lakers have the speed to stay with Golden State, but I think Denver can take them. 2 top scorers in AI and Melo. If the Lakers were a defensive juggernaut then I would say no contest, but they are not and Denver can take them.

If golden state is on fire there unstoppable, if they play like they did last year in the playoffs they can win

Both teams can beat them, but it's unlikely in both cases. The Lakers have a number of mismatches and they are quite big with Bynum, Gasol and Odom... and that's not to mention the advantages Bryant provides.

the number 1 seed will probably be LA or SA, so no i dont think it can happen this year.

likely number 8s are denver, GS, houston.

houston is the only one with a slim chance just because they are a good defensive team, but without yao highly unlikely.

golden state will have to shoot the 3 above 40% the entire series to have a chance since they will get beat down and outrebounded inside.... they would probably lose in 5 to either LA or SA.

denver may also have a slim chance against LA simply because they are very good when they focus and play as one, but it just doesn't happen enough for them to win 4 of 7. though i would like nothing more than to see the lakers or spurs go down in round 1....
