Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
How dare you put The Big Smooth in conference with those scrubs, Sam is a LEGEND to the highest degree, the last player on a Jordan team to be the best player on the team, a star in Dallas, a key cog in LA, a major contributor to championship runs in Indiana and Seattle.
Sam Perkins is a basketball legend and I expect a full apology for including him in the list (though I do support the premise of this thread).

Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
Slightly obscure is a tough one. So we're not looking for straight up obscure, but just slightly so? Not knowable to the general public?
Would Rex Chapman count?

Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
Googs, Perkins and Seikaly weren't really obscure. Heck Rony was probably a top 10 center of the decade. Googs was a 20-8 player before getting injured.
Some guys I liked who weren't really popular were:
Eric Murdock:

Doug West:

Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
Googs? Obscure?
He had some serious game.
For you kiddies out there he was Danilo Galinari before Danilo Galinari. They even look eerily similar.

That would be James Worthy, Jordan was better than Perkins the next two years.

When was he the best player on a MJ team? Jordan was Sporting News player of the year as a sophomore and junior. Worthy was best player his freshman year.

Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
Also, I wouldn't really consider Rony an obscure player, per se.
Late '90s, but:

Re: Slightly Obscure 90s Nostalgia Players
Robert Pack always put on a show, need to call Nate Robinson Robert Pack Jr.
I honestly had no clue who Ricky Pierce was before he spent a year in Indy when I was 10 or so years old, but that dude could score the damn ball.
Dino Radja's 2 packs a day ass.
One of the more forgotten "what if he didn't get hurt?" guys, LaPhonso Ellis.
The best player in Minnesota history before they got KG, Doug West.
The ugliest man in human history, Tyrone Hill.

Remember Game 5 of the '93 Finals? The guy dropped 25 on 12/14 shooting on Scottie freaking Pippen.
Amazingly, the highlights of Dumas in that game are available on Youtube. I love that site more and more every day.

Funny.... because when I Googled "Popeye Jones," about a quarter of the results were Tyrone Hill.
They are forever linked, like Bird and Magic.
