everyone is forgetting the steal of the trade
Ivan McFarlin
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God this suspension to Melo is really pissing me off now. Can't wait to see those 2 together. They're going to be a high energy, high scoring team. And believe it or not, AI's quickness and energy plus ability to play passing lanes makes him a defensive lift over Miller who was lazy on that end, and slow and was useless defending screens. And Melo has really improved defensively this year, Camby is cleanup guy, and Nene (when he gets healthy) is a good defender and has shown it when playing. Im thinking they should possibly start Khouba for his defense and bring JR off as a 6th man unless he improves his D.
This group will work. I have always believed that AI isn't necessarily selfish, just had to be on his team. He's going to a team with a better scorer that's scoring 108 a game without him. And without Dre, they're going to need AI to be a playmaker first and foremost. They are a dangerous group when things were clicking, but sometimes they relied on Melo too much. I believe Melo will continue to lead the league in scoring or get 30 and AI will get maybe 9-10 assists a game. and score in the mid 20s while the other guys that score will be about 15 and below. I think AI will be instantly willing to score less as he isn't that efficient and Karl demands efficiency (except out of Earl for some reason?)
But its fun to speculate, while Im almost positive they'll be fine, it could be a train wreck to begin it all, and sadly we have to wait a long time to see it all together.
As for people saying they'll need to trade Martin or JR or whomever. For the most part it isn't happening. They're going to keep JR and since his stats aren't going to be that eye popping anymore, he wont get too much money. And Kroenke can afford to pay out all this money. He's one of the richest and willing owners in the league, and that's just off his money, not including his wife is one of the Wal-mart kids
I would Like to say it's my new scratch line!
good wishes to AI!
dude, nobody expect arenas to be great and there he is on top of the mountain. besides, the rate sixers are player, their own pick may be in the top 3.
What if Oden does not come out after this season if they don't win a title, and decides to try again with a fully healthy wrist? There will be a lot of tanking teams upset?
so im def gonna try to trade jr to some unsuspecting owner when he comes back

Yep. I'll be upset. This is a good draft, but Oden is the closest thing you can get to a lock in the draft.
Good Luck to George Karl in managing all that talent. Only time will tell if that's a good problem to have. Melo's scoring will miss Andre. He set up his guys nicely. I just hope my fantasy team doesn't suffer, I'm starting Miller and Camby. Good luck to both squads. Denver has the potential to be a nightmare of a match-up for opposing teams. JANUARY 20th!!!!MELO'S Back.
this season, probably...but they're getting three first rounders in most hyped draft class for some time (along with 2003). also, it's make it or break it for iggy, dalembert, korver, green and so on. if there's any true potential in them, this will bring it out.
Philly and Phoenix are rocking the draft next year, they both have 3 1st rounders apiece.
great...now the t-wolves really have a chance to win their division. WOO HOO! (sarcasm)
You heard it here first: Denver will NOT contend for a title anytime in the foreseeable future. There is no way they are going to touch actual TEAMS such as Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix. All they have is an entire squad of talented, selfish punks. Guys like Melo and Iverson are ridiculously good, but have no idea what it means to set aside there own egos in order to play team basketball. This will definitely be an entertaining bunch to watch--I'll say that much.

They'll still have to contend with the Mavs(matchups/depth), and Suns(Depth). These teams are Kryptonite for the Nuggets.
SA won't have Duncan forever....... Bruce Bowen can't guard AI, JR Smith and Melo all at once and what little good Robert Horry does won't be available after this year, because he's retiring. Nene can handle Duncan, but who does SA have that can stop K-Mart and Camby from hogging all the boards. If Duncan plays C, who's the PF.
this is one of the few trades where nobody gets better... 76ers lost iverson who was a pain but he was thier best player...
nuggets now have the pain, the guy who is a 42% shooter can't work with a coach, hates to practice and is a ball hog of the top order.... melos numbers will decline and the nuggets will tumble...
