Kobe went to a radio event at a Westfield mall in LA and riled up the crowd saying something along the lines of, 'i know it's been a rough year, but just sit back and take it in cuz it won't be like this next year. next year we get our revenge against the haters." Cue wild applause and general fanfare.
Colin cowherd played this clip on the Herd yesterday morning, calling Kobe delusional. He publicly bet kobe $10,000 that the Lakers won't even reach the playoffs next year. (Sorry, no link for that) Now, I was wondering what ish thought of this bet. I think Colin should have bet that Lakers don't reach 2nd round. Anything could happen this off season and the Lakers could have a playoff team next year. I know kobe's contract is going to hamstring the team next year (I am a little mad at Kobe for that, does he want to win or what) but come on, miss the playoffs 2 years in a row? It's very possible, but just as possible that the Lakers get a low playoff seed. Thoughts?

I hope that dude has a lot of money because that is a pretty stupid bet. They probably won't make the playoffs or win much of anything, but like you said, they very well could.

I always find it funny people laugh at the idea of the Lakers making the Playoffs and thinking Kobe is nuts. It happened last season with the disaster team and he said they'd make the playoffs and promised it. Soooo many people thought that he was crazy and it wouldn't happen. Guess what? They made the playoffs.
I'm not saying it's guaranteed, I hate fans who are self entitled like that to think so but it isn't wise to doubt either. Like someone else said, the Lakers could put a Playoff team together for this coming season. Not a championship team but a playoff team. Kobe is coming back from an injury which is the wildcard but acting like it's unrealistic for the Lakers to make the Playoffs is ridiculous. The West is competitive but nothing is sacred. The Bobcats were the joke of the league for many seasons and now they're back in the Playoff picture.
