Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
If you paid attention to Orlando's playoff run, you would have noticed the tension between Rafer and the coaching staff, the team, and Nelson. He didn't want to be replaced when he was playing well and Nelson was coming back from injury.
I did pay attention to the playoff run. That's a bit different, don't you think? The Magic had made the finals with Rafer in there, and it was kind of questionable whether or not Jameer was really ready to roll. Nelson ended up playing anyways.
EDIT: And Rudy Fernandez isn't a point guard, I don't know why you keep mentioning him.
Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
Who on here could of honestly guessed that Brandon Jennings and Andre Miller would be the 1st two players to drop 50pts this season? I bet no one in the world saw that coming
Melo dropped 50 too.
Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
Why did Portland sign Andre Miller? Are they that down on Rudy and Bayless?
Did you not watch the playoffs last year? Nobody but Roy could create their own shot. That's why they signed him.
Also, Rudy and Bayless are not PG's.
Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
Just watch the wording, that's all. He's a solid starting PG. That's all he ever has been. Even when he put up pretty good numbers for terrible Cavalier teams. It was a mirage. Like with any scrub putting up numbers on a bad team. Cause if those numbers meant something and came at important times, the numbers would be accurate representations of the player's impact, and their respective teams wouldn't be racking up L's instead of W's.
Bayless is a PG, so what if he wants to shoot first?
Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
Melo dropped 50 too.
Wasnt it 48?

Nope, 50 against the Knicks.

Wasn't trying to be a douche, btw ... didn't just want the exaggerations about him as a player after this 52 point game start to kick in and skew his worth in retrospect.
Nope, 50 against the Knicks.
Suprisingly Melo hasn't had NEAR the amount of 50 points games I would have expected him to have by this point. For his career I mean.

The same goes for Wade.
Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
The same goes for Wade.
True. But Wade never put up the amount of 3 point attempts up until a few years ago as Melo, Bryants, and James of the world. So I didn't expect as many 50 point games out of him. But he had 2 or 3 50 point games last season alone.
Re: Andre Miller New Career High-Points (52)
in honor of Andre Miller's 52 points tonight, i had to look through the history books to see what other guys in history scored more than 51 points, and have a low to mediocre career ppg like miller's (14.5)
- mahmoud abdul rauf - 51 points. 14.6 ppg
- terry cummings - 52 points. 16.4 ppg. yeah he became a career backup guy after the 91 season, but before that, his first 8 years in the league he was pretty good.
- charles smith - 52 points. 14.4 ppg
- willie burton - 53 points. 10.3 ppg
- tony delk - 53 points. 9.3 ppg
- damon stoudemire - 54 points. 13.4 ppg
one thing to note: the year kobe averaged 35.4 ppg, he posted 6 games with 50+ points, including his 62 and 81 point games within 1 month of each other.

He also had 4 straight 50 point games and 40+ in the game after that..
Why did Portland sign Andre Miller? Are they that down on Rudy and Bayless?
Rudy isn't a PG and the Blazers WERE down on Bayless. He was 3rd string last year and thus he had yet to show much of what we have seen this year. Blazers weren't sure if he'd be ready, traded Sergio, and brought in Andre. Another reason they signed Andre was because they had cap space and were unable to land their targeted free agents (Hedo, Millsap, David Lee). Next summer they would have gone over the cap whether they signed a guy or not due to Roy and Aldridge's extensions, so the Blazers decided to sign the best guy still available in free agency, and that was Andre Miller.

That's how you break it down.
