LAS VEGAS --Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace wasn’t surprised his name was in trade discussions.
In fact, he figures most every name on the roster is in play. The Bobcats talked to the Toronto Raptors leading up to the draft about a deal that could have involved Wallace and then-Raptors point guard T.J. Ford. The Raptors instead moved Ford to the Indiana Pacers in a deal for Jermaine O’Neal.
“Basically, I think what they’ve said is everybody is being shopped,’’ Wallace told the Observer, while watching his team’s summer-league game against the Los Angeles Clippers. “With new management, new coaches and everything, you have to expect something like that.’’ Wallace said he hasn’t spoken with coach Larry Brown or general manager Rod Higgins about his status.
“I got back to Charlotte around Monday and came right out here,’’ said Wallace, one of several Bobcats veterans in Las Vegas.
Last summer Wallace signed a contract that pays him $9.5.million each of the next four seasons.
